Could this test be making your skin journey more confusing than it needs to be? 👇🏻
Seven years ago, I took an IgG food intolerance test hoping it would give me the answers to my acne.
Instead, it left me feeling overwhelmed, restricted, and scared to eat foods I’d enjoyed for years đź«
This is one of the reasons I don’t recommend IgG testing to clear your skin. Rather than relying on a list of foods to avoid, I prefer to look at the bigger picture. Your symptoms, digestive health, stress levels, lifestyle, hormones, and overall health all provide valuable clues as to why your skin is breaking out.
That’s exactly why my functional consultations and 12-week Clear Skin Reset Programme take a root cause approach. Together, we investigate what’s driving your skin concerns and create a personalised plan that supports both your skin and your health.
Because clear skin isn’t just about removing foods, it’s about understanding why your body is responding the way it is.

When your job is helping people feel confident in their skin again, there’s honestly no better feeling than hearing how much it’s impacted their life 🥹
I know firsthand how life changing it can feel when you finally experience a breakthrough after struggling with your skin for so long.
This has been huge for Hannah. Even being able to apply fake tan for her photoshoot is something she never would’ve been able to do before because of her eczema, as her skin simply wouldn’t tolerate it or allow it to apply evenly.
Through a combination of topical skincare, internal support, guidance, and consistency, Hannah has worked so hard on restoring her skin. She’s also been really focused on supporting her body with a nutritious diet alongside her skin journey.
Seeing transformations like this goes far beyond skin alone.
If this is something you’re struggling with too, pop a ❤️ in the comments and I’ll guide you in the right direction.
It’s very easy to feel injectables are the only option now. If you want to age well, it can feel as though that’s just the route you have to take, and if you don’t, you’re almost doing something wrong. But that’s not the case.
What you’re seeing online, the lack of expression lines and completely smooth skin, is just one version of ageing. It’s what’s often shown, but it’s not the only way, and it’s not focused on skin health, because your skin will still age.
I’m in my 40s, I don’t have injectables, and I work with skin every single day. The approach I take, both for myself and my clients, is completely different.
I focus on supporting the skin, strengthening it, and improving how it functions over time. Things such as vitamin A, consistent SPF, working on my nutrition, reducing alcohol, supporting my nervous system, and prioritising my skin barrier rather than constantly pushing it with aggressive treatments. I then build on that with treatments such as microneedling and LED.
Nothing extreme, nothing instant, but all of it adds up over time.
I’ve learned that when it comes to skin, you have to play the long game. Quick fixes don’t give long term results. Skin health over everything.
This isn’t about saying injectables are wrong. They’re a personal choice, and there is a place for them. But they’re not the only option, and you shouldn’t feel like they are.

I used to excuse my skin all the time, almost like I needed to address the elephant in the room before anyone else did.
I started to just accept that this was my skin, and almost make it part of my identity.
And I see this now with so many of my clients.
But it doesn’t have to be that way.
For me, things changed when I stopped just looking at my skin, and started looking at how my body was actually functioning.
My stress, my habits, my overall wellbeing.
I started paying attention to my habits in a way I never had before. Even small things, like pausing before eating and asking myself how I actually wanted to feel.
And it made me start to question things I’d never really thought about.
Was I constantly stressed or in fight or flight without realising?
Was I actually fuelling my body properly?
Did my lifestyle support the kind of skin I wanted?
It wasn’t about doing everything perfectly. I didn’t always make the “right” choices, but over time those habits started to build, and I found myself making better decisions more often than not.
Once I started looking at those things, instead of just my skin, everything started to shift.
If you feel stuck with your skin and don’t know what else to try, you don’t have to figure it out on your own. You can send me a message or book a Clear Skin Reset functional consultation via the link in my bio.
If your skin isn’t improving, it’s not always about your skincare 👇🏻
Here are 3 signs your breakouts might be coming from something deeper:
1. Your skin improves and then suddenly flares again
This often points to internal triggers like stress or hormonal shifts, rather than your products.
2. You’re consistent with good skincare, but nothing really changes. If the surface is being looked after, but the skin isn’t responding, it’s usually a sign something else is driving it.
3. Your breakouts follow a pattern
Around your cycle, during stressful periods, or when your routine changes, this often points to internal triggers rather than just what you’re using on your skin.
This is where people get stuck.
They keep changing products, when actually the skin is reacting to something else entirely.
If you’re stuck in this cycle and don’t know what your skin is responding to, it might be time to look at the bigger picture.

It’s easy to believe your skin is just the way it is, genetics, skin type, “this is just how my skin has always been.”
And while those things can play a role, they’re not the full picture.
Genetics might be the starting point, but your lifestyle shapes what happens from there.
Because your skin is constantly responding to how you live.
Your sleep, your nutrition, your stress, your day to day habits.
And over time, those things can either support your skin or work against it.
This is why two people with similar skin types can have completely different experiences.
Because it’s not just about what you’re born with.
It’s about what your body is dealing with day to day.
And when you start to understand that, it changes how you approach your skin.
Not as something you’re stuck with,
but something you can start to work with.
If you feel like your breakouts are just something you have to live with, it might be time to look at what could be influencing them.
