“Please reply to this email by the 12th.”

Me confidently opening it on the 20th like I’m about to negotiate with fate.

You read it slowly. Calm. Calculated. Like maybe if you don’t react, the deadline won’t react either. There’s a brief moment where you consider pretending you never saw it. Then you notice the timestamp. Then you notice the “Just following up…” email sent on the 15th. Then the “Circling back” on the 18th.

Now you’re standing there emotionally like a medieval knight holding a scroll that basically says: “You had one job.”

The worst part? You absolutely meant to reply. You even mentally replied. In your head. Several times. Full professional tone. Perfect grammar. Never actually sent it.

So now it’s damage control mode.

Do you:
A) Apologize and act confused about the date?
B) Blame spam filters?
C) Reply casually like it’s still the 11th?

You end up typing:
“Apologies for the delay!”

As if eight days is just a minor time glitch.

The confidence of reading an expired deadline like it’s a suggestion is unmatched.

Modern procrastination: the true final boss.

As alot of you know now I am opening my first hair salon! This has been such a scary step to take but I feel now is the right time 💫
