Why Your Curls Are Ghosting You (And How to Make Them Stay)
We’ve all been there—you spend 45 minutes curling your hair only for it to look like a sad, straight mess by the time you hit the door. If your curls have commitment issues, here’s the professional tea on how to make them stick around.

🧽Step 1: The Cleanse
If your hair is greasy or loaded with heavy conditioner, your curls are going to slide right out. Wash properly and keep that conditioner on the ends only. We want light and bouncy, not weighed down.

🙌Step 2: Prep is Everything
Don’t curl “naked” hair! You need a foundation. Apply a styling mousse or a prep spray while it’s damp to give the hair some “grip” and memory.

🧖‍♀️Step 3: Bone Dry Only
If your hair is even 1% damp, you’re basically just steaming it. Make sure it’s 100% dry before you touch a hot tool or you’re wasting your time.

🔧Step 4: Quality Tools
Cheap irons give uneven heat. Use a high-quality wand or tong that keeps a consistent temp so every curl gets the same love.

🧊Step 5: The Big Chill
The most important step. Do NOT brush them out while they’re hot. Let those curls cool completely to “set” the shape. If you brush while they’re warm, they’re gone.

Once they’re cold, rake through with your fingers and hit it with a texture spray or a light hairspray.
