kind of a rant kind of not - a few days ago i was asked for my prices, once the potential client had received them i was asked if i would make them cheaper for her, the answer of course was unfortunately not

i just want to run through why hair extensions cost the amount they do (i personally think i’m very reasonable)

1. good quality hair is not cheap! i would say around 75-80% of the price is simply the cost of the hair. if you’re paying £100 including fitting for a full head of hair extensions expect them to last a few weeks (buy cheap, buy multiple times) i only use brazilian or russian hair and i have used the same brand for 3 years, the hair lasts up to 18 months

2. my time! this is quite literally how i pay my bills. you’re paying for a service, i’ve spent years and years perfecting my fitting and getting qualified to be a specialist costs a lot!

3. there are things like our equipment that has also cost us specialists a lot of money

what i’m trying to say is you don’t go into a shop and ask them to make a pair of shoes cheaper because you don’t want to pay the price that they are, so please don’t ask self employed people to reduce their prices
