The power of cupping therapy ✨

Cupping is a traditional Chinese medicine technique that has been used for thousands of years to promote healing, improve circulation, and restore balance within the body.

By creating gentle suction on the skin, cupping helps move stagnant Qi (energy) and blood, release muscle tension, reduce pain, and support the body's natural detoxification processes. It can be particularly beneficial for back pain, tight muscles, stress, headaches, fatigue, and respiratory conditions.

The circular marks left after treatment are not bruises in the traditional sense—they are a temporary response to increased circulation and the release of stagnation in the tissues. They typically fade within a few days to two weeks, depending on the individual and the degree of stagnation present.

Every treatment is tailored to the patient's unique needs, combining the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine with a holistic approach to health and wellbeing.

Move Qi. Move Blood. Restore Balance.

Patient feedback is always deeply appreciated, particularly when supporting individuals with complex and often debilitating chronic pain conditions.

Trigeminal neuralgia is frequently described as one of the most severe pain conditions a person can experience, often having a significant impact on daily life, wellbeing, and confidence.

I am delighted that, through a personalised approach and careful assessment, Pat has experienced several weeks free from pain. While trigeminal neuralgia is a chronic condition and symptoms can sometimes return, the goal is always to provide effective, tailored care that helps patients manage their condition and improve their quality of life.

Thank you, Pat, for your kind words and for allowing me to share your experience. It is a privilege to be part of your journey and to support you in achieving positive outcomes.

🌿 Support for Depression: Understanding Your Options

Did you know that research has found a course of acupuncture from a qualified British Acupuncture Council member can be as effective as counselling for people experiencing depression, and more effective than usual care alone?

As a BAcC-accredited acupuncturist, I provide personalised treatments that support both mental and physical wellbeing, taking the whole person into account.

If you're struggling with low mood, stress, anxiety, or depression, acupuncture may be a helpful part of your support plan.

📅 I have only a limited number of appointments remaining in June. If you've been considering acupuncture, please get in touch to book your consultation before these spaces are filled.

Choosing an acupuncturist should mean choosing someone with extensive clinical training, professional regulation, and recognised qualifications.

As a practitioner registered with the British Acupuncture Council and qualified with a BSc (Hons) degree in Acupuncture, my training included:

• Degree-level education in acupuncture and Chinese medicine
• Detailed study of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and diagnosis
• Extensive supervised clinical training with patients
• Training in professional healthcare standards, safety, and ethics
• Ongoing continuing professional development to maintain best practice

BAcC membership represents one of the highest standards of professional acupuncture training in the UK, requiring rigorous education and adherence to strict codes of practice and patient safety.

When you choose a fully qualified BAcC practitioner, you are choosing a clinician trained to provide safe, informed, and professional acupuncture care.

Why Pathology Diagrams Matter in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)🌿

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, diagnosis is not based on symptoms alone. It is about understanding patterns within the whole body.

One of the key tools used is pathology diagrams which visually map how different systems may be interacting beneath the surface. These diagrams often illustrate concepts such as organ relationships, meridian pathways, and patterns of imbalance.

Rather than focusing on a single isolated symptom, TCM uses these visual frameworks to support pattern differentiation, helping practitioners consider how factors like digestion, sleep, stress, and pain may be connected.

🧭 Why we use them:
• To visualise internal patterns that aren’t always obvious
• To support a more holistic understanding of symptoms
• To guide individualised treatment approaches such as acupuncture
• To communicate complex ideas in a clear, structured way

In acupuncture practice, these diagrams are not one-size-fits-all explanations. They are reference tools that support careful clinical observation and personalised care.

✨ Every person presents differently, which is why diagnosis in TCM is always tailored, not standardised.
