INTRODUCING A LIMITED EDITION SOAP FOR THE SUMMER! 🌞

Lime Street

Sunny skies. Day trips. Adventures ahead.

For generations, Liverpool Lime Street Station has been the starting point for countless journeys. Since opening in 1836, it has welcomed travellers, reunited families and sent generations of Liverpudlians off on new adventures.

Inspired by those summer escapes, Lime Street is handcrafted using 100% steam-distilled lime and spearmint essential oils for a scent that's bright, refreshing and full of energy. Organic brown sugar, organic poppy seeds and French clay make this one of my most exfoliating soaps, helping to smooth rough skin, buff away dryness and assist with the fading of old fake tan.

Handcrafted in Liverpool, each bar is made with a nourishing blend of skin-loving oils and butters including shea butter, coconut oil, olive oil and castor oil. The result is a rich, creamy lather that cleanses while leaving skin feeling refreshed and cared for.

Whether you're heading to the coast, exploring somewhere new, or simply dreaming of your next getaway, Lime Street captures the excitement of a ticket in your pocket and a sunny day stretching out ahead.

Scent Notes: Lime • Spearmint

Exfoliants: Organic Brown Sugar • Organic Poppy Seeds • French Clay

Why you'll love it:

- One of my most exfoliating soaps
- Made with 100% steam-distilled essential oils
- Helps smooth rough elbows, knees and feet
- Ideal before tanning and for helping fade old tan
- Rich in skin-loving oils and butters
- Fresh, uplifting summer scent

"Inspired by Liverpool's gateway to adventure."

WAIT FOR THE CUT ✂️

There's something incredibly satisfying about cutting into a fresh loaf of soap and finally seeing what's inside.

This brand new Liverpool-inspired bar has just been cut, stamped and is now curing ready for release.

👀 I haven't revealed the scent yet...

Comment below with your guess and let's see who gets closest!

The full reveal lands tomorrow. 🚉

A mindful Saturday morning spent doing what I love most... crafting soap. 🧼🌿

Today saw 100 bars of Liverpool-inspired natural soap poured, along with 10 bars of my gentle dog soap made with chamomile tea, oats and honey. Every batch starts with carefully weighing oils and butters, blending natural ingredients, and slowly bringing everything together through the traditional cold process method.

What looks like a tray of freshly poured soap is actually the beginning of a fascinating chemical transformation. Over the next 24 hours, the oils and lye will react in a process called saponification. As they do, the temperature inside the soap rises naturally, sometimes becoming surprisingly warm as the mixture transforms from liquid oils into solid bars of soap.

Tomorrow they'll be unmoulded and cut, but they're still far from finished. After that comes the patience part — a curing period of at least 4–6 weeks where excess water evaporates and the bars become harder, longer-lasting and gentler to use.

There's something incredibly satisfying about turning a few simple ingredients into something beautiful, useful and handmade.

Today's production included: 🌿 Liverpool-inspired natural soap bars 🐾 Chamomile, oat & honey dog soap ✨ Plenty of washing up ☕ A well-earned breakfast and a couple of cappuccinos

Now it's time for a hot bath, a tidy kitchen and a quiet evening while today's batches work their magic.

🔪🧼 OFF WITH HIS HEAD... 🧼🔪
One of my favourite parts of soap making has to be the cut.
After weeks of planning recipes, measuring ingredients, blending oils and waiting patiently for the loaf to set, there's something incredibly satisfying about slicing into a fresh batch and seeing what's inside.
Every bar starts life as a single loaf before it's carefully cut by hand, revealing its colours, swirls and character. No two bars are ever completely identical – that's part of the beauty of small-batch, handmade soap.
This particular batch is getting the royal treatment... although unfortunately for it, it's a case of off with his head! 👑⚔️
Now the hardest part begins: curing. These bars will spend the next few weeks drying and hardening to create a longer-lasting, gentler bar ready for your bathroom.
Made in Liverpool, inspired by Liverpool, and crafted the traditional way.

If you'd have told me 366 days ago...
..that learning to make soap in my kitchen would lead to this, I'd never have believed you.

In the past year I've gone from complete beginner to running Dock and Aloe alongside a full-time teaching career. I've learned about formulations, CPSRs, compliance, public liability insurance, bookkeeping, marketing, websites and everything that comes with building a business from scratch.

I've had Christmas sell-outs, been stocked in independent shops, featured in the Liverpool Echo, had an article written about my journey by Liverpool Noise, supplied gifts for a filming company, and watched my soaps travel from Liverpool to Brazil, Mumbai, Egypt, America, Malta and beyond.

I've stood behind market stalls feeling nervous, vulnerable and completely out of my comfort zone, only to meet some of the most talented, supportive and inspiring makers Liverpool has to offer. Many started out as fellow traders and have become genuine friends.

I've developed products I never imagined I'd make, with eight more on the way, and received messages from customers telling me my soaps have helped their skin and reduced their reliance on plastic. Those messages mean more than any sales figure ever could.

At 38, with 40 on the horizon, changing direction felt scary. But it has also been one of the most exciting and rewarding things I've ever done. This little business has reminded me that it's never too late to take a chance on yourself.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Dock and Aloe over the last 366 days. Whether you've bought a bar, shared a post, stocked my products, stopped at my stall or simply cheered me on, you've helped make this possible.

366 days ago I was learning how to make soap.

Today I'm running a business.

And I can't wait to see what year two brings. 🌿
