Moments captured recently. Life-ing, mumming, working, business-ing, exercising, recovering. (Smiling. Crying). All the feels.
My God, women are superwomen.
1. At the recent .connected.table first London dinner. What an honour to have been one of 14 people invited. Amazing evening of connection. Captured with and .onyx.starr
2. Recent dinner with my sisters at The Coach House in Marylebone. Great food and by the way if you are coeliac like me, that fish and chips is gluten free and way yummy!!
3. I’m Marylebone High Street. Beautiful inside.
4. One of my favourite shops in London and their flowers are always so beautiful (although ridiculously and probably unnecessary spenny). But it’s one of those places I always go to and think ‘one day I’m always going to shop here’
5. Great reformer Pilates session
6. I looked redder than that after the session!
7. Attending a workshop on strategic identity through the art of presence at one of my fave places
8. Prepping Modern Standard goodies to sit on the table at an exclusive event
9. Trying to work while my poorly son just wanted mummy cuddles. This picture represents life generally I think
10. Seeing the wonderful .tres at a recently interesting event talking about scaling brands through influence
11. Filming some content for Modern Standard
12. Trying to wind down before bed by reading. This doesn’t happen every night but really trying to make a conscious effort. Currently reading Confidence by
13. Being ill in bed for a week with a bug
14. Getting out for sunshine and a coffee when I can - my absolute happy place
15. The first Modern Standard photo shoot - can’t wait to show all the photos!
16. Weekend mornings
17. Breakfast on repeat at the moment to maximise energy first thing in the morning
18. Updating the website with the new photography from the recent shoot
19. Actually working my full time job!

Caveat. This is what works for me. Here’s how I make it work: I’m a mum, I work full time, I’m building a business, and I still find time to hit the gym. It’s not magic – it’s commitment and consistency. I’ve learned that accountability isn’t just a word; it’s a promise to yourself. If you say you’re going to do something, show up for yourself every time. This is the mental evidence you need to give yourself that over time, builds trust in yourself. The power of that, is unmeasurable.
I plan my days with purpose, carving out slots for what matters. But life isn’t always predictable – things crop up, plans change, and that’s perfectly fine. I have had to work hard to teach myself to let go of being too rigid and just trust the flow. I’m still on that journey because for me, losing control of the day was a sign of failure. But now I recognise that this journey is about growth, not perfection, and I’m embracing every moment.
Tips for managing a full day:
🕰️ Plan your day with priorities for an order that works for you. For me, a workout always has to be first thing.
🕰️ Schedule slots in your diary to block out time on important tasks. For me, as I work full time, I block out 15 minutes here and there so I can realistically do them amongst a wok schedule.
🕰️ Meal prep – the time in the day you save by doing this is so underestimated. Plus it keeps you on track with your nutrition goals.
🕰️ Focus on the showing up, even if the effort is not always 100%. I recently heard on a podcast to never miss two days of anything consecutively otherwise you break the habit. Just show up.
🕰️ Give yourself grace: Not every day will be perfect. Celebrate small wins and be kind to yourself when plans change.
Focus on making a small commitment everyday and that will add up to giving you time back to do what you really want to do.
What tips do you live by and which ones have I missed out? Let me know!

Flying long-haul solo with a 2-year-old… and surviving ✈️ have you done it yet?
In December, I did something that genuinely made me nervous: I flew long-haul alone with my two-year-old for the first time. We’ve flown plenty before, but always short European flights, and always with my husband. This time it was just me and Dhruv on a 7-hour flight to Dubai to spend Christmas and New Year with his dad, who’d been working there for months.
I won’t lie - I was anxious. I’m not the most confident flyer at the best of times, and my usual “calm my nerves” glass of something definitely wasn’t an option this time 😅
But… it was actually way easier than I expected. And a lot of that came down to planning. Here’s what worked for us 👇
✨ His own seat
This was Dhruv’s first flight since turning 2, which meant his own seat - such a game changer. He felt settled, had his own space, and loved having his own headphones.
✨ Afternoon flight > night flight
I almost booked an evening flight thinking he’d sleep… but then realised that would just pile pressure on me to make sure he slept while everyone else did too. An afternoon flight meant zero stress and so sleep was a bonus, not a requirement.
✨ Strategic nap timing
I skipped his midday nap and delayed it by a couple of hours. As soon as we took off? He slept for nearly three hours
✨ Brand new toys (revealed to Dhruv slowly)
Amazon Fire, sticker books, flash cards, sucker toys — all new and only introduced on the plane. I brought something out every hour or so and it kept him entertained between aisle walks.
✨ A fully loaded snack box
Let’s face it - plane food isn’t exactly the highlight of a flight. So I took my own snacks. I packed fruit, raisins, tomatoes, carrot sticks and a cheese sandwich so he could snack throughout the flight without a sugar crash.
If you’re anxious about flying solo with a toddler, I promise, you’re more capable than you think. Sometimes the build-up is way worse than the reality 🤍
Have you flown solo with a little one yet? Or is it still on your “nerve-wracking but inevitable” list? Also please share other tips I have missed?

Christmas holiday in Dubai done. It’s the first time I ever celebrated Christmas away from home so I wasn’t sure what to expect but I enjoyed it more than I thought I would have done. We spent Christmas Day on the beach drinking champagne which was amazing and the chilled vibes and sunshine was a really nice way to welcome in the new year. The fireworks at The Burj lived up to its expectations- they were quite something.
As for Dubai itself, it’s the first time I’ve been back since 2004 so it’s changed massively. It’s got a great vibe, some parts are obviously quite ott but I did hear quite a few times from people that it’s really child friendly and I have to say - I now get it, it’s totally brilliant for families and young kids especially. They are catered for so well and I found the people there really friendly!
Do you prefer Christmas at home or away?

2025, you stretched me but in a good way. I started full time work again after being off for mat leave which came with its own emotions, living in a new home in a new area as a new Mum, putting Dhruv into nursery and watching him cry for me for the first 4 months, trying to find my own path again and my own identity. going back into work but feeling like such a new mum still. Trying to find me. Being a mum, bring a wife, being a friend, trying to do it all. All of these had their emotions, and lots of them.
But on the other hand, I got to travel to new places - on my own, with all my family and with just my husband which I feel very grateful for. I finally relaunched Modern Standard whilst still working and found small pockets of time to still work out and have time out - even if that meant going for a walk for 5 mins. Looking back I think this is the year that I not only realised how resilient and patient I actually am - even when I am being tested to the max, but its also the year I learnt that I need to be gentler with myself, have slower mornings if that’s what it takes to fit in the 1000 things I do each day. And somewhere in between that, I’m starting to slowly feel my groove again.
Every year has its own challenges whichever shape they take and we’re all here to reflect, learn and move on from them. If you have your health and your family, you’re already winning and it’s the best we can hope for, for this time next year.
I hope 2026 brings you all the love, good health and happiness you deserve.
Happy new year!!! xx

One of the questions I get asked quite often is whether I recommend using a separate sunscreen or whether it’s ok to continue using a moisturiser that has spf in it.
In my opinion, using separate sunscreen in addition to the SPF provided in a moisturiser is recommended for effective and better sun protection.
Many moisturisers do offer some level of sun protection with their included SPF, but in my opinion, relying on it solely may not really provide adequate defense against harmful UV rays - and also the spf levels in moisturisers are usually not that high.
Incorporating a dedicated sunscreen into your skincare routine means you can customize the level of protection to your specific needs. Sunscreens have a higher SPF value and a broader spectrum of protection, guarding against both UVA and UVB rays.
By combining the moisturising benefits of your chosen cream with the added protection of a separate sunscreen, you can ensure that your skin is shielded from the damaging effects of the sun, reducing the risk of sunburn, premature aging, and potential skin damage.
What do you currently use?
I use Intense Creme

What is your current skincare routine?
There is sooo much information out there, and so many products and options out there. Let’s take it back to the basics for a moment. If you’re new to creating a skincare routine for yourself, or you’re changing your current one, here’s the stages that you should always have as a minimum:
1️⃣ CLEANSE. Whether it’s oil, butter or foam based, this is one of the most important steps. Everything starts with clean skin.
2️⃣ TONE. This gets rid of any last bits of dirt or grime sitting on your skin, and preps your skin to absorb the following products better
3️⃣ SERUMS. These are super charged little wonders so use a small amount for your skin concern. Brightening - vitamin c, liquorice; dehydration - hyaluronic acid, peptides; anti-inflammatory - zinc, salicylic acid
4️⃣ MOISTURISE. Fine lines are mostly caused by dehydrated skin, so make sure your cream leaves your skin feeling soft and comfortable.
5️⃣ SPF (AM only). Come rain or shine, indoors or outdoors, always wear SPF. Ideally a minimum of 50.

This change in weather is definitely making a change to my wardrobe but how is it making your skin feel?
The change in weather, increased central heating and low humidity in the air can really dry your skin.
Why is it important to treat dry skin?
* Reduces the appearance of wrinkles
* Makes skin brighter, firmer and smoother
* Moisture goes hand in hand with reducing wrinkles. The better hydrated the skin, the better it is in reducing fine lines
* As we age, our bodies natural processes slow down and drier skin becomes more common
How can you treat it?
✅ keep the skin moisturised - make sure the moisturiser you are using leaves your skin feeling soft and comfortable. You can double moisturise or even add a facial oil
✅ drink lots of water - to keep the skin adequately hydrated inside, out
✅ avoid using hot water to wash your face, use luke warm water and park skin dry
✅ use a facial oil to lock in the water content from your products and restore moisture.
Bonus tip! If you’ve washed your face thoroughly the night before, you can wash your face with just water in the morning
Extra bonus tip: did you know that the brand I founded - Modern Veda (formerly Rise Skincare) facial oils are made using only 100% natural ingredients? They use skin loving high quality organic oils such as rosehip, evening primrose, camellia, and argan oils. Head over to to find out more and if you register for the newsletter at modernveda.co.uk, you will receive an exclusive welcome offer when the products fully launch 💃🏽

If you have been following my skincare brand, I am very excited to announce that for the past 6-8 months has been going through a complete rebrand to give it a new look, image and brand name.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I decided to make the change because I wanted it to reflect what the brand was actually about - it needed to be a reflection of who I am, my family, my beautiful Indian culture and tradition.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For that reason, Rise Skincare has been renamed as Modern Veda. The new brand is all about embracing the traditions, culture and Ayurvedic ingredients I have grown up with, and adapting it for modern lifestyles and living. It's about fusing the traditional with the modern - this is where the magic happens - in the middle of that combination!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The full rebrand includes:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✨ a new look and feel
✨ a new product
✨ improved formulations of the existing products
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The product line-up will be launching very soon so stay tuned for exclusive pre- launch access and an launch offer code!

Finally got round to sorting through the photos from our recent holiday to Tuscany - 2 days in Florence and 6 days in Montepulciano. Problem is narrowing it down to 10 photos is so hard!
8 days of sunshine, drinks, the best pasta, fresh air and relaxation. It ready is just absolutely beautiful there. It’s my third time to Tuscany and it just never fails to blow me away with its beauty 💛💛
Food and outfits needs its own series of photos 🤪
