What is Knot in muscles – myths and facts
Working hard all day behind a desk and you feel that you have a big, hard knot in muscle in Your shoulders? It's painful when you move, it's blocking Your range of motion? Its causes Your shoulder uplift all the time? 🤔
What is it? It usually appears when we do our duties in an isometric contraction of a muscle. For example, Heir stylist has to keep her arms all the time in the air to cut hair or typing on computer in a lousy position forcing You to keep sleeves up and contract Your shoulders.
What happens next?
Contracted muscle has a big problem with blood flow. Our muscles are working like a sponge so when you squeeze it flushes all blood from it and absorbs blood when it's relaxing. When it's in an isometric contraction, there's no natural “pump” flashing waste materials from muscle. All metabolites (including lactic acid) stays in tissue and crystalise in fibres. That’s why you can feel “grains” in a muscle when its tide. Additional to that Your brain starts “getting used to” this position and “forgets” how to relax the muscle. So Muscle shortens in length and creates a knot – shortcut description.
What to do to treat muscle knot?
You need to recreate proper blood flow in muscle. One of the best things is to have a massage. During treatment, we use a different type of techniques: pressing, holding, stretching, “breaking” muscle to regain proper blood circulation and flash metabolites from the tissue. It's like a kick start for tired muscle. When We press tight muscle, Your brain getting signal that this particular muscle is tight and needs to relax. Next step is to “teach” Your mind to keep Your muscle relaxed by stretching him. Thanks to these simple techniques, You will eliminate knot from Your tissue. 😇
Why I get muscle knot in the same place over and over?🤔
In Your daily life, You are repeating the same movements constantly. You need to identify whats, causing muscle contraction in Your everyday life and change your habits.
If I can't change my job or work position- what should I do? 🤔
I would recommend regular treatment once every few days to combat all negative results of Your daily routine. 😇

You feel like your training for a while, and Your results are getting worse? Before You could lift 100kg and now You are stuck, or you can lift even less than 100kg? Your 5km run result is worse than a week ago? Although You are pushing harder Your result getting worse? 😞
Sometimes answer to that problem is lack of rest. Your training is strictly connected to Your rest. Muscle producing lactic acid and other metabolites during training. Then it needs time to remove those waste materials from the system. Usually, it takes up to 48hours. But when Your next training is the next day, the body doesn't have enough time to get rid of it. Than acidity builds up in Your muscle and starts damaging Your muscle fibres. That’s why you need a proper rest between training, and from time to time You need a more extended rest – up to 1 week without any activities.😇
Sports massage can be a big part of Your regeneration process. It speeds up blood flow, pushes out metabolites from muscle to the liver and relaxes the muscle (simplified description). So Massage is a big part of Your rest cycle, and in some point necessary in Your training, especially if you train more than 3 days a week. Your results will improve after a massage, and Your regeneration process will speeds up. Keep in mind that Your body needs proper rest. If not- Your result will drop😏
Did that happen for you in the past? Write in comments Your story🤓

Running and preparing for the marathon was always a great way to spend time outside the office, but now hip pain is a killer?
“Husband after marathon complains about pain in the right hip. He runs 3 years / 180km monthly in training. He can feel pain during the run and in the night time.”
It sounds familiar?
A lot of runners have a similar problem. It can appear from lack of stretching hips – specially Iliopsoas muscle, which is the most powerful hip flexor and can cause chronic pain. Look at this stretch – post isometric muscle relaxation followed by hip therapy makes massive different and release tight tissue around the hip joint. Check it out! :)
