✨ Colour Correction & Grey Blending ✨

Removing yellow tones from a client who is transitioning to grey — but not evenly throughout the hair — can be a real blending challenge.

My client had a dark patch at the front sitting right next to bright white hair, making it tricky to create a seamless result. The top half of her hair up to the crown is a mix of her natural level 6 and white/grey, while the underneath remains mostly her natural level 6.

To tackle this, I lowlighted from the crown up to the hot cross bun section using 7NN and 7NA to add depth and help soften the contrast. Through the front sections, I placed bleach baby lights to gently blend the bright white hair with the darker patch and break up that harsh line.

To finish, I toned with 10A to neutralise the yellow tones and create a softer, cooler finish.

Grey blending is all about working with the natural hair rather than against it — creating dimension so everything melts together beautifully. 🤍
