African black soap also known as black soap has a wide range of benefits which is why we love it so much!

This soap originates from regions in west Africa where it is made locally form harvested plants. The recipe to create black soap may vary depending on the region but its main ingredients consist of water, roasted plantain skins or cocoa pods and palm oil or shea butter.These ingredients are packed full of antioxidants and other beneficial properties which is why variations of the black soap recipe has been used across Africa for centuries. Ingredients are burnt to ash then dissolved in warm water, after this they are heated together with a base such as coconut oil then cured for 2-4 weeks until ready to be used.

Black soap is great for all skin types from sensitive skin to oily skin and would be a great addition to anyones daily skincare routine.
