Small business owners - Avoid Foodies Festival!

It’s a waste of money and time.

They exploit small business owners for their own profit and are shockingly unprofessional.

Dear fellow small business owners, this is a warning to any of you who have been (or may in the future be) approached by ‘Foodies Festival’ and are considering exhibiting at one of their events.

We had been brand-sourced by ‘Foodies Festival 2021’ and though the stall fee was quite an investment for a small business such as ours, we were convinced that it would be a great opportunity to find new customers and get some great exposure, so we booked two of their events.

The event at Syon Park we took part in turned out to be a complete waste of our time and money as most visitors are just after free samples, booze and a good time. Our sales profits didn’t come close to bringing in the stall fee (not to speak of the preparation time) and we barely gained any new customers.

Prior to this event we had already decided that due to personal reasons we couldn’t commit to the second event. We cancelled well before the deadline stated in their Ts&Cs, entitling us to a 70% refund.

I have since been chasing them for this refund and hundreds of emails, several phone calls and a year later, still haven’t received my money.

They came up with increasingly ridiculous excuses as to why the money hadn’t been sent yet, referring me from one person to another, promising payment several times and finally ignoring my emails and calls altogether for the last two months.

I am shocked and saddened by the utterly unprofessional behaviour I have faced while dealing with this company and hope to spare you, fellow small business owners this experience.

Apologies for the lengthy post, but I see it as my duty to warn others so they won’t make the same mistake taking part in this festival.

We’ll be taking a short break as we welcome our new addition to the Seedling family!

We won’t be at markets and our online shop will be closed until 1st March
If you need to re-stock on your favourite oil before then, make sure to order by noon 8th January.
