We're three months into 2022, and I just wanted to remind you of the haircare practices you do be doing if you want to achieve your hair goals.

1) Washing your hair regularly: I recommend Washing weekly or at least every two weeks. Dirty hair growing faster Is a myth. If you're not careful, a dirty scalp can cause clogged pores which can inhibit hair growth.

2) Always moisturise your hair before combing: Thisss is a game changer. I get a lot of complaints regarding Afro hair being painful to comb. The reason you feel this way is because your hair isn't properly moisturised. Dry hair can cause the ends of your hair to break off which would affect your length retention.

3) Never comb dry hair:
Similar to number 2. Stay away from rat tailed combs

My hair goal is to grow my hair from 11 inches to 15 inches in 12 months.
I hope I'm able to hit it.

What are your hair goals?

We covered the topic of chebe in our live session.

Our conclusion was that chebe might have some benefits, it is NOT a growth serum like it is popularly advertised.

I think it's quite an interesting one, what do you think?

Yess oo we're still on our series "before you follow that trend".

Research research research, it's important to make research. The big question is, how does one make research?

The answer is to go to the experts. Hint: not Google (sorry Google)

I mean, the trichologists (scientists who study the scalp) and the hair coaches.

Stay tuned as we take you guys on this beautiful stationary journey on some of the trends you should be avoiding.

Porosity means your hair's ability to absorb water and products.
The float test of dropping a hair strand in a glass of water to test for porosity is not accurate. I.e FICTION

The float test won't give you true results because there are too many factors for it to be accurate. Here's four top reasons why the float test is inaccurate:

1) The surface tension of water is not considered:
If the surface tension of water is high, it would cause the hair to float.

2) Porosity differs across the strand: The ends of the hair tends to be more porous because they're older.

3) Hair contains oil (sebum) which can make it float; sebum repels water.

4) Clean hair in general tends to float in water.

In summary, the only way to test for your porosity is to do a gas sorption test. That's expensive and impossible to do at home.

The Eid holiday was amazing but sadly, all good things must come to an end.

Anyway, we have good news for you.
Consider this a late eid gift.

Dry hair, is when there is no moisture present in the hair.
And by moisture I do not mean water.
Wet/damp hair is not synonymous to moisturised hair.

For those Afro hair.I don't know about you, but I find it nearly impossible to choose just one conditioner. I'm sure you can understand why - there are so many good choices out there! But what can you do? You need to pick something and stick with it, or else your hair is going to hate you. Well, if that's the case, then let me suggest some options for you based on my own experience. Here are some tips:When choosing a deep When choosing a deep conditioner, look for products with water as the first ingredient. Water is the best humectant and will pe*****te, moisturise the cuticle layer of your hair shaft . Water also has thermal properties that help lock in moisture.

Secondly look out for Conditioners that contain moisturising ingredients such as Glycerin, Glycol, ceteryl Alcohol etc (not limited to these).

Lastly, take a look at the testimonials. Look at what people who have a similar hair type to yours have to say about the product.

Remember, selecting products is a trial by error process, learn what your hair loves and stick to it.
