SKINS love to work slowly and especially so when doing Lip Blush. There are even cases where it looks like nothing has even been done once healed (first session ok!). And there’s a reason for that.

There’s two ways to build up borders, and we prefere the slowly-slowly approach. Brick by brick. We are not in any hurry and we want your borders to be suuuuuper soft and natural, not hard and over defined.

This client has very full (all natural!) lips that were very pale and cool in tone, lacked definition and conformity, and a sizeable scar on the top lip.
We wanted something so subtle and lovely to suit her day to day routine and we are so chuffed with the healed results.

She completely trusted our process which essentially benefits the client so they can have the most natural and soft result possible, whilst also being allowed the time to adjust to the new colour and definition.

Going slow is one of SKINS’ business values. We attract a lot of very anxious clients, people who wouldn’t normally do any beauty treatments and for those who present the need, our first thought is to GO SLOW.

Over plucking was a condition of the 90’s/00’s and the impacts are forever. Hairs at this point just do not grow back.
This client had plucked her brows into a sort of circular shape, very far apart and clearly very thin. Added to the fact that her brow hairs are very fine and fair.

What we do is this. We work closely with the existing shape, adding few strokes, and letting them heal. This gives a) the client time to adjust to more visibility around her brow bone and b) a chance for us to see how the strokes will heal and sit in the skin.

As you can see from the healed pic, the strokes healed very lightly, and subtly, building up a little bit of space but definitely with the need for more.

So that’s what we did! We did more! Last pic shows brows after top up.

How do we decide where to place the new eyebrow shape on the face?

The SKINS method believes that the anatomy of each client gives all the signs we need to be able to create something completely tailored and on an individualised basis.

This client had full, thick and luscious brows! Absolutely stunning. But he felt that they lacked definition. But where, you think? So much hair.

As you can see, he didn’t have much room to play with on the bottom area of his brows, but the upper part; lots! We can see that there was a lack of hair growing in the upper area and arch, which would give him more fullness and definition but also a lifting sensation in his brows! We also added a few strategically placed strokes in the beginning areas to add more depth but without being too polished.

This case shows how you can literally just enhance and achieve something so impactful without over doing it.

Lip Blushing for us is a huge game changer. If you get it right, it’s just bliss.

This client has beautiful lips, but you simply couldn’t see them for so many glands (Fordyce Spots) showing under her lip tissue.

Fordyce spots are very common, glands that sit under the lip tissue and appear as little white dots, but not in this quantity. However they are coverable with semi permanent make up and the result is marvellous! This client no longer needs to rely on reapplying lip stains all day long.

Lip blushing takes about 2.5 hours start to finish including consultation, pre draw and numbing. SKINS has mastered an incredibly superficial approach which essentially dusts the surface layer of the lip tissue allowing for a translucent finish and well wearing result over time.

Really blonde, really thick, how to act?

When dealing with really blonde clients a chat is more important than ever. How do they feel about their brows in context of their whole face and compared to their head hair. Do they feel that they are too fair? Too little contrast? Do they want to darken them or maintain them very blonde?

Even though a client can have really thick brows (this client has a lot of variation in the tone of her hairs), they can appear less so due to the reflective nature of the blonde hairs. Essentially you can’t always see all the blonde ones, so they don’t appear as full as they actually are. Please note that the camera makes most things appear more intense and dark. In real life this clients hairs are fairer than they appear here.

When working with really blonde clients we have a little wiggle room in terms of tone and colour as we can manipulate the hairs. We can play with the colour, which differs to those with darker hair.
So we always ask, do you want them to appear darker or keep their natural fair and nuanced appearance?

This particular client didn’t feel the need, she didn’t actually want to dye them, but simply improve the strength of them in the beginnings and fill in some of the gaps at the ends.

We love love love when you guys love yourselves. We love when you want to embrace what you were birth-blessed with! She just wanted to SEE her beautifully bold brows more and as you know us, we stepped up to the challenge.
