1. Breakfast is considered as the most important meal of the day, giving your brain and body the energy it needs to function before beginning the daily tasks.
2. The origin of the original claim that "breakfast is the most important meal of the day" is based on the marketing campaign by a cereal manufacturer in the 1940s. So while the origin of the claim wasn't rooted in scientific evidence, but there is now research to support the recommendation.
3. Breakfast earned its title as "the most important meal of the day", back in the 1960s after American nutritionist Adelle Davis suggested that to keep fit and avoid obesity, one should “eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper.”
4. Although research suggests that breakfast may not be the most important meal of the day, it is still important. It serves as an opportunity to help you fuel your day and provide key nutrients that your body needs.
5. Your breakfast meals should contain: egg, cereal foods, fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, nuts, dairy products, grains etc.
6. Breakfast is ideal to be served within 7:00am - 8:30am.
7. Breakfast should not be served later than 10: 00am.
8. Always remember to eat your breakfast 1 hour of walking up.
9. Breakfast are mostly lighter meals.
10. Most breakfasts are side dishes, that is dishes that are served together.
11. Tea, bread and egg are the most served breakfasts.
12. Breakfast must not be skipped, when breakfast is skipped, the metabolism of the body slow down.
13. Breakfast must be easy to prepare and time saving. Difficult breakfast foods can be prepared in advance, stored in the fridge and reheated for breakfast.
14. Breakfast provides the body with important nutrients, to start the day feeling energized and nourished.
