The Science and Choice Behind Our Facial Range
We get asked a lot about the skincare brands we choose to bring into clinic. Today we’re focusing on Medik8 facials and why we decided to introduce them at Fierce Face.
Medik8 was actually the very first skincare brand we brought into the clinic, so it has always held a really special place in how Fierce Face has evolved. It’s a brand we’ve trusted from the beginning, and one that still aligns closely with how we approach skin health today.
For us, Medik8 stood out because of its science-led approach to skincare. The brand is built around its CSA Philosophy (Vitamin C and Sunscreen by day, Vitamin A by night) focusing on skin health, prevention, and consistency rather than overly aggressive treatments.
One of the things we particularly value about Medik8 is the balance between active ingredients and skin comfort. The facials are designed to target concerns like dehydration, dullness, congestion, sensitivity, and early signs of ageing while still feeling approachable and supportive of the skin barrier.
The brand also aligns closely with our wider clinic values. Medik8 is cruelty-free, vegan-friendly, and focused on creating evidence-based skincare backed by ongoing research and innovation.

The Science and Choice Behind Our Laser Device
We get asked a lot about the devices we use at Fierce Face. Today we are focusing on IPL and Non-Ablative Fractional Laser.
After over 12 months of researching, trialling, and doing more demos than we can count, we chose the Candela Nordlys platform. It stood out because it lets us treat a wide range of skin concerns really safely and precisely, while still keeping everything completely tailored to the individual in front of us.
A big part of that decision came down to the technology. Nordlys uses something called Selective Waveband Technology (SWT), which is a more refined approach compared to traditional broad-spectrum IPL systems. Instead of flooding the skin with a wide range of wavelengths (and unnecessary heat), SWT filters the light much more precisely. In practice, that means we can target what we actually want to treat, while keeping the surrounding skin calmer, safer, and generally more comfortable.
For us, safety and skin health always come first. We wanted a device that could deliver excellent results while minimising unnecessary trauma and downtime (so you can still keep all your fun plans that weekend!).
As we move closer to sunnier days, this is also the point in the year where we begin to slow down IPL and Fractional Laser treatments for anyone with a tan, whether from sun exposure or fake tan. These treatments cannot be performed safely on tanned skin, so it’s all about doing things at the right time, in the right way, to keep results both safe and effective.

The Science and Choice Behind Our HIFU Devices
We get asked a lot about the devices we use (what they are, why we’ve chosen them, and what makes them different). Today we are focusing on our HIFU devices.
At Fierce Face, we’re committed to sourcing the best technology available. Whenever we consider a new device, we go through a thorough evaluation process with potential suppliers. For context, it took us over 12 months to choose our laser machine (maybe longer than necessary, but absolutely worth it!).
When it came to HIFU, we selected Ultraformer III and ULFIT. These are complementary systems that allow us to deliver precise skin tightening and contouring treatments.
One of the standout features of Ultraformer III is its 2mm cartridge, which allows us to treat delicate areas (like around the eyes and mouth) with a high level of precision. Many HIFU devices don’t offer this level of accuracy, making it especially effective for targeting fine lines and more delicate skin.
For deeper lifting, the 6mm cartridge delivers focused energy to deeper tissue layers. This helps tighten and define areas like the jawline, creating sharper facial contours.
For body treatments, ULFIT comes into its own. With larger cartridges designed for wider areas, it’s ideal for skin tightening and contouring on the stomach, arms, and thighs.
By combining these two advanced systems, we’re able to tailor each HIFU treatment to the individual, whether that’s subtle facial refinement or more comprehensive body work.
If you’re considering HIFU (whether that’s with us or elsewhere), it’s worth understanding the machine being used, as it can have a significant impact on your results.

Help us find our new home.
As Fierce Face continues to grow, we’re on the lookout for a new clinic space in SW London, and we thought everyone might know of someone or somewhere you knows.
We’re searching for a characterful, period-style property that we can transform into a calm, luxurious space for our clients. Something with personality. Something that feels special the moment you walk in. We are very happy to do the work ourselves to get it looking good - ie a place with great ‘bones’ will work well. We are open to buying or renting.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
Location: Clapham or Battersea
Size: roughly 1,000 to 1,500 sq ft
Layout: 3 to 5 clinic rooms, a waiting area / reception, bathroom and kitchen
Style: a non-serviced, characterful older building, ideally with its own entrance
Access: within walking distance of a Tube or train station
Parking: on-site or nearby is a bonus
Vibe: a quiet, professional setting away from takeaways, busy restaurants and convenience stores
If you know of anything, or know someone who might, please DM us, tag them below, or share this post. We’d be so grateful. Thanks so much!

Hyperpigmentation - What is it, why it happens, and how we treat it.
We use the Dermalux LED a lot in the clinic, but we’ve realised that not everyone actually knows what it’s doing for their skin.
LED light therapy helps calm inflammation, reduce redness, and support your skin’s natural healing process. That’s why we often use it after treatments like Dermapen, when the skin might be feeling a little sensitive.
It’s also a bit of a secret weapon for stubborn breakouts, certain wavelengths can help target acne-causing bacteria while soothing the surrounding inflammation.
You can also book LED as a standalone treatment, or add it to pretty much anything, whether you want to elevate a facial, or make dermaplaning feel that bit more indulgent.
It’s gentle, relaxing, and surprisingly effective.
Red Light
Stimulates collagen, calms inflammation, and supports healing.
(post-treatment recovery & long-term glow)
Blue Light
Targets acne-causing bacteria and reduces oil.
(Great for breakouts and congested skin)
Near-Infrared
Reduces redness, supports healing at a deeper level, and helps calm reactive skin.

We always love reading our reviews from clients, and it’s especially nice when a client recognises our clinic ethos. As a team we make a particular effort to never be sales like, and never to push treatments that aren’t needed.
Our focus is to support you clients and create long term relationships.

Why we chose the Dermapen 4
Microneedling can sound intimidating if you’ve never had it, but it’s definitely one of our most-loved treatments for giving the skin a proper refresh and shaking things up, especially at this time of year now the sun is starting to come out, and we all want the glowy skin!
We chose the Dermapen 4 for many reasons. It’s faster, more precise, and doesn’t drag or cause trauma. The needles are ultra-fine and move at high speed, creating tiny micro-channels in the skin that kickstart your natural repair process. That’s when all the good stuff starts to happen: collagen and elastin production, smoother texture, and a brighter, more alive-looking complexion.
What we also love is that we can tailor the treatment by using targeted Dermaceuticals serums, so while the pen’s doing the physical work (boosting renewal from within), we’re also getting the right ingredients deeper into the skin to support hydration, glow, or scarring, whatever your skin needs. Think of your skincare just sitting in the top bun of the burger (my favourite analogy of the skin!), but with dermapen we are pushing all the serums much deeper.
Some people come in for a one-off session to refresh their skin, while others do a course of three (or more) if they’re working on a specific concern or looking for longer-term results.

Really pleased to have hit 200 five-star reviews. A huge thank you to everyone who has trusted us with their skin since we started in 2019, from a small room in my garden to our own space on Clapham Common.
Our team is what makes Fierce Face what it is:
Kaleb - has been with us for over a year and is building our new sculpting facial and is now improving our headbands and towelling (who’d have thought the effort that goes into creating bespoke headbands from the ground up!)
Lauren – joined from general practice and has been leading our content and events, including our new vlog series (more to come soon).
Dr Katrina – our injectables lead, bringing experience from A&E alongside her Level 7 qualification in injectables – one of the highest.
We’ve always been clear on our values, and that won’t change:
-Customer and staff satisfaction come first – our team’s KPIs are based on client experience, not sales. You’ll never be upsold anything unnecessary, and we take a less-is-more approach to treatments.
-Fiercely independent – we’re not backed by outside investors, so we don’t have aggressive growth targets. That means we can focus on doing things right, not rushing to scale.
That said, we know we can always do better. If you have ideas on how we can improve—whether it’s the clinic space, treatments, or your overall experience—we’d love to hear from you. We’re also planning to find a new clinic space towards the end of the year, with a purpose-built reception based on client feedback. If you have thoughts on where this should be, let us know!

If you’ve had a treatment with Kaleb, you’ll know her vibe is very calming and kind.
Right now, she’s also refining something new—our sculpting and lifting facial, launching soon. We’re perfecting every element, including sourcing the ideal balm to enhance the experience. More details to come…
Our Google reviews are always a good place to go to read about client experiences with us.
We are trying to create a new approach to how a skin clinic is run - none of the clinicians’ KPI’ are based on sales targets - the biggest two drivers for their KPI’ are customer satisfaction and employee learning and development. We believe this leads to an absolute focus on doing what’s best for the customer, leading to great clinical outcomes and happy (and returning) customers.
