There's nothing like a refreshing glass of ice-cold lemonade to cool you down on a hot day! Making homemade lemonade is probably way easier than you think. You'll just need to follow a few simple steps to prepare a sweet, tart, and refreshing drink, perfect for the summer 🌞 🧊 🍋 🍃
Ingredients:
✅ Sugar and water – The sweet syrup is made by dissolving sugar in boiling water. This ensures the finished drink is cohesive and smooth (and prevents sugar from collecting at the bottom of the pitcher). You could replace the sugar with honey.
✅ Lemon juice – Freshly squeezed lemon juice is definitely the way to go, but bottled lemon juice is excellent if you are in a hurry.
✅ Ice – Just make sure to add the ice immediately before serving as you don't want to dilute the sweet flavour.
✅ Plain or sparkling water.
How to make lemonade:
👉 Juice your lemons – Start by firmly rolling the lemons around on the counter. This will help release the juices and make your job a lot easier. Cut the lemon in half lengthwise, then squeeze the juice by hand or with a juicer.
👉 Make a sweet syrup – Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan, bring the mixture to a boil, and stir until the sugar is dissolved and then let it cool completely (if using honest, let it melt in lukewarm water.)
👉 Stir – Pour cold plain or sparkling water into a pitcher. Stir in lemon juice and pulp, then add the sweet syrup to taste.
👉 Serve – Add the ice. If you're feeling fancy, garnish each glass with a fresh lemon slice or a candied lemon peel and some mint leaves.

Having good posture is important for your health, but also your self-confidence and appearance. Here are nine of the top reasons to focus on good posture:
1. Reduced lower back pain – Sitting or standing in a slouched position for prolonged periods of time stresses your lower back which can lead to pain.
2. Reduced headaches – Poor posture can contribute to tension headaches, due to increased muscle tension in the back of the neck.
3. Increased energy levels – When your bones and joints are in correct alignment, it allows the muscles to be used as they’re intended, so you’ll have less fatigue and more energy.
4. Reduced tension in your shoulders and neck – A forward head posture puts strain on the upper back, shoulder, and neck areas. With proper alignment, the joints and ligaments are less stressed and less subject to chronic overuse.
5. Decreased risk of abnormal wearing of the joint surfaces – Crooked sitting and standing, such as resting on one leg or side of your body, leads to excessive strains on your joints.
6. Increased lung capacity – If you’re slouching, you’re compressing your lungs but If you’re sitting and standing taller, your lungs have more space to expand. In other words, good posture improves your breathing.
7. Improved circulation and digestion – If you’re compressing vital organs, your circulation is poor, and those organs aren’t going to work as well. Healthy blood flow requires proper alignment and avoiding positions that cramp circulation, like crossing your legs.
8. Improved core and scapular strength – Muscular effort is required to maintain good posture. If you’re holding a good posture, your core and upper back muscles will remain active and engaged.
9. Better form during your workouts – Our posture doesn’t just affect us when we’re sitting and standing, but when we’re exercising, too. For example, having an engaged core and neutral spine during a squat will help prevent injury.

Beat the heat today!
Whether you love the heat or can't wish it away fast enough, here are 5 things you can do to make the current heatwave a bit more bearable:
1. Drink lots of fluids to hydrate and cool your body; water is your best friend!
2. Avoid going outside during the hottest hours of the day.
3. If you can, avoid heavy physical work or intense exercise.
4. Wear light and loose clothing made from natural fabrics. Cotton or linen are great choices.
5. Cut back on caffeine and alcohol intake as much as possible and avoid heavy foods.
Above all, try to enjoy this brief heatwave if you can, as it will be winter before you know it 😉
