Why did the NHS banned hayfever
shoots? 🤔
Kenalog injection are a very effective hayfever treatment. However, this is a vast amount of steroid that is injected into the blood for modified realise. This means that the steroid would be realised into the body slowly throughout the season.
The NHS made the decision to discontinue Kenalog injections due to safety concerns and a lack of robust evidence supporting their long-term effectiveness.
The long-term side effects include trouble sleep, weight gain, stomach pain, headache, and dizziness.
Nevertheless, when symptoms are severe and do not respond with other treatments, It is crucial to have a conversation with your GP about potential treatment options and carefully assess the risks and benefits before pursuing as a treatment option.
