Nurse Julia Medical Aesthetics
Anti-wrinkle injections and dermal filler treatments, including advanced procedures. All treatments
Recorded this back in July with my good friend Kelly Saynor, founder of The Perfect Peel.
💬 From chaos of A&E, to the precision of aesthetics. We chat about life on the frontline, the transition into aesthetics nursing, and the realities of living and working with ADHD.
It’s taken me so long to share this because posting anything with myself in it gives me major anxiety, & also not the most consistent on here … as you all know!
🎙 Episode 10 of Barefaced Chat is available on YouTube, Spotify & Apple Podcasts.

This transformation is more than just clearer skin.
Behind every before/after photo is a journey that required trust, patience & consistency.
There is also an acceptance, that skin is never a quick fix. That there will never be an end point where you can just check out & forget about it.
But learning to manage and understand your skin makes the journey worth it 🌟

A few differences between The Perfect Peel (TPP) & The Perfect Peel Superblend (TPPSB):
Choose the TPP if:
• You want a more intense peeling experience
• Don’t mind additional downtime
• Have had previous peels & want to add a booster to intensify the process, or target specific concerns
Choose TPPSB if:
• You want a med depth peel, with less visible downtime
• Prefer a more manageable peeling experience
NB: The original Perfect Peel can only be performed by a trained medical professional
Which one are you choosing?

More & more people are recognising the benefits of a preventative, & regenerative approach to skin health & ageing.
Polynucleotides are now one of the most requested treatments in the aesthetics industry, & certainly in my own practice.
They might be relatively new to the aesthetics world, but they’re here stay 🧬

With Skin Cancer Awareness Month, and the sunny weather finally arriving, here is a quick reminder to check your moles!
The A-E of Melanoma is a really useful tool to identify anything that may sit outside of ‘normal’.
Any new lesions, or changes to existing ones should be checked out by your GP or Dermatologist.
Early detection saves lives!

And more…….

➡️Fast - Treats a 2mm lesion in 10 seconds
➡️Safe for delicate areas. Including face & eye area
➡️Pinpoint Accuracy - Protecting healthy tissue
➡️Minimal discomfort during or after treatment
➡️No downtime or homecare

Map My Mole is a digital mole mapping service that provides a fast, detailed report of any suspicious looking lesion.
What does it involve?
This is an in-clinic service. Following a consultation, photos of your moles will be taken with a special lens. These are then uploaded to a secure digital platform, and reviewed by a Consultant Dermatologist. A full report will then be sent to you within 24 hours.
What next?
If your lesion is identified as benign (non suspicious), then you can leave it as it is, or, if suitable, consider removal (cryotherapy).
If there is a high suspicion of malignancy then only a biopsy and histological assessment can confirm this. However, the report will allow your GP to refer you directly for further investigation.
For more info, or to book for a mole mapping at Grove Park or Croydon, pls DM.

Be the person who recognises the woman, starting behind the others.
Be the person who supports that woman, giving her the tools to progress and flourish.
Because being that person is one of the most incredible things you can do. That woman will never forget you. 🤍

Most treatments can be performed all year round but some treatments are ideal for the colder months:
Chemical Peels: That fresh new skin will be extra sensitive to the damage of the sun. SPF should be worn EVERY day, but cooler months reduce the recovery time.
Winter skin is always drier. Getting rid of the dead skin cells on the surface will improve the absorption of moisturisers, and restore that glow.
Microneedling:
Very similar to peels in regards to UV sensitivity. Microneedling increases the rate that the skin cells turnover, and the fresh cells will be extra sensitive to the harmful rays of the sun.
Microneedling can help to repair the damage caused by the extremes of temperatures in the winter, and transform your skin health.
Microsclerotherapy:
Following injections for thread veins it is recommended you wear compression stockings for a number of days. There is no better time than winter to add additional layers!
It is also important to avoid sun exposure to the treated area for 6 weeks following treatment. This makes winter an ideal time to start treating those thread/spider veins.
