Many people have been forced to believe the lies that Africans were living in caves and bushes before the colonizers came. Accounts have been given of how Africa was a primitive civilization with no inventions and contributions to human development. But many of these accounts are false to a certain degree. This article does not cover a pinch of the glory Africa had, but it helps in building a foundation o knowledge for our people and others who care to know.

1. The human race originated from Africa/Afrika. The oldest known skeletal remains of anatomically modern humans (or homo sapiens) were excavated at archeologic sites in East Africa. Other human remains were discovered at Omo in Ethiopia. The remains were dated at 195,000 years old, and they are the oldest known in the world.

2. Skeletons of pre-humans have been discovered in Africa that date back to about 4 and 5 million years ago. The oldest known ancestral type of humanity is believed to have been the australopithecus ramidus, who lived at least 4.4 million years ago.

3. We Africans were the first to organize fishing expeditions 90,000 years ago. At Katanda, a region in Northeastern Zaïre (now called Congo), archeologists recovered a finely wrought series of harpoon points, all finely polished and barbed. Also, they uncovered a tool, equally well crafted, believed to be a dagger. The discoveries suggested the existence of early fishing culture and tribe.

4. Africans cultivated crops 12,000 years ago. These were the first known advances in agriculture after the stone age. Professor Fred Wendorf discovered that the people of Egypt’s Western Desert planted and harvested crops such as barley, chick-peas capers, dates, legumes, lentils, and wheat. The ancient tools they used were also recovered. There were grindstones, hide scrapers milling stones, engraving burins, cutting blades, and mortars and pestles.

Meet The Inventor Of The World’s Fastest Computer, Dr. Philip Emeagwali

Dr. Philip Emeagwali, who has been called the "Bill Gates of Africa," was born in Nigeria 🇳🇬 in 1954. Like many African schoolchildren, he dropped out of school at age 14 because his father could not continue paying Emeagwali's school fees. However, his father continued teaching him at home, and everyday Emeagwali performed mental exercises such as solving 100 math problems in one hour. His father taught him until Philip "knew more than he did."

Growing up in a country torn by civil war, Emeagwali lived in a building crumbled by rocket shells. He believed his intellect was a way out of the line of fire. So he studied hard and eventually received a scholarship to Oregon State University when he was 17 where he obtained a BS in mathematics. He also earned three other degrees – a Ph.D. in Scientific computing from the University of Michigan and two Masters degrees from George Washington University.

The noted Black inventor received acclaim based, at least in part, on his study of nature, specifically bees. Emeagwali saw an inherent efficiency in the way bees construct and work with honeycomb and determined computers that emulate this process could be the most efficient and powerful. In 1989, emulating the bees' honeycomb construction, Emeagwali used 65,000 processors to invent the world's fastest computer, which performs computations at 3.1 billion calculations per second.

Dr. Philip Emeagwali's resume is loaded with many other such feats, including ways of making oil fields more productive – which has resulted in the United States saving hundreds of millions of dollars each year. As one of the most famous African-American inventors of the 20th century, Dr. Emeagwali also has won the Gordon Bell Prize – the Nobel Prize for computation. His computers are currently being used to forecast the weather and to predict the likelihood and effects of future global warming.

CHURCH ISSUES CERTIFICATE OF VIRGINITY TO LADIES AFTER PASTOR’S INSPECTION

Church reportedly issues Certificate of Virginity to Ladies after Pastor’s Inspection.

A church in South Africa has reportly issued a certificate of virginity to female members after the head pastor had subjected the ladies to test.

The name of the Church as boldly written on the certificate of virginity is Nazareth Baptist Church located at Ebuhleni, northern part of Durban in South Africa.

According to reports, practice was carried out in a bid to promote chastity among the ladies in the society. The free virginity test was carried out on ladies who attend their church and are 18 years and above.

Reports say that it is usually an annual event or initiative that is carried out by the church, and at the end of the exercise, Certificates are awarded. Certificate of Virginity is awarded to the successful ladies and also, a white mark is given on the forehead. Every year, the ladies look forward to that event.

When discussing the topic online, many people have wondered how the pastors are able to identify members who are either virgins or not, and the pastor’s method of doing so is widely discussed.

The former President of Burkina Faso, Blaise Compaoré, has arrived back in his country after spending seven years in exile.

The government says he is there to hold talks with the military junta as part of reconciliation efforts.

In April this year Compaoré was given a life sentence in absentia for his role in the assassination of the country's revolutionary leader, Thomas Sankara, during the coup that brought him to power 35 years ago.

It's not clear whether Compaoré will be subjected to a judicial process now that he is back in Burkina Faso.

He was spotted homeless in the streets of Nigeria despite being on screens for years.

Yul said he will post his account number alongside a video for a crowdfund.
