Before you buy another product for your baby’s sensitive skin, read this. 🔬
The label “natural” has no legal definition in the UK. “Gentle” has no legal definition. “Baby-safe” has no legal definition.
OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 does. It is an independently verified certification - not a brand claim, not a marketing badge, that tests for over 100 harmful substances including formaldehyde, heavy metals, azo dyes, and pesticide residues.
For a baby with eczema whose skin barrier is already compromised, spending 14 hours daily on an uncertified textile is a meaningful risk. Not a theoretical one.
Swipe through to understand exactly what the certification means, what standard textiles can legally contain, and how to verify any brand’s certification yourself at oeko-tex.com.
Every product from The Sensitive Curl Co. carries verified OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification 🌿

None of this replaces your medical team’s guidance. These are evidence-based principles to support your knowledge as a parent.

This one is for you. Not for your baby or other little ones. For you. 🤍
When I was building The Sensitive Curl Co., I almost didn’t include an adult range. Every minute of every day was going into the children’s products. The sourcing, the certification, the seam construction.
And then I thought about the parent navigating all of this. The one awake at 1am researching fabrics and allergens and inflammation pathways. The one who has changed every product in the house except the ones they sleep on.
So we built The Parent Edit.
Silk pillowcase - reduces overnight friction on your skin while you sleep. The same skin barrier science we apply to your baby, applied to you.
Silk eye mask - restorative rest is not a luxury when you are the primary carer for a child with complex health needs. It is a physiological necessity.
Silk scrunchies - no breakage, no crease, no compromise on hair you’ve been too exhausted to think about.
All OEKO-TEX® certified. All Mulberry silk. All made with the same evidence-led care as everything else in our collection.
Because a nurtured parent nurtures best. Always. 🌿

It’s here. 🌿
Our first bulk order from supplier one has arrived. Months of sourcing. Multiple sampling rounds. Quality checks. And now, here they are.
I’m not going to pretend I wasn’t emotional opening this box.
Every bonnet. Every pair of mittens. Inspected, quality-checked, and exactly what we designed them to be. The French seams are perfect. The silk weight is exactly right. The colours are everything.
We are still waiting on our packaging and our second supplier order, but this moment? This is real. This is actually happening.
Launching this June. Less than two weeks. If you haven’t joined the waitlist yet, now is the time. Link in bio. 🌿
To everyone who has followed this journey from the very beginning, thank you. This box is for your family. 🤍

Sunday education drop 🌿 Save this, it could genuinely change your child’s skin.
Managing eczema is often detective work, systematically identifying triggers that aren’t always obvious. As a public health nutritionist and eczema mum, here are 5 that frequently get missed:
1️⃣ FABRIC FRICTION - even “soft” cotton creates micro-abrasion against an already-compromised skin barrier. This is cumulative over a 12–16 hour night. Silk dramatically reduces this friction coefficient.
2️⃣ OVERNIGHT MOISTURE LOSS - the skin barrier loses hydration as your child sleeps. Cotton can actively draw moisture away. Silk does not. For an eczema baby, this difference is significant every single night.
3️⃣ TEMPERATURE FLUCTUATION - overheating is one of the most consistent, well-documented eczema triggers. Silk is naturally thermoregulating, warming in cool air, cooling in warmth. This matters enormously during sleep.
4️⃣ FRAGRANCE IN “NATURAL” PRODUCTS - even natural essential oils (lavender, chamomile) can trigger reactions in highly sensitive children. Always look for fragrance-free certification, not just “natural” on the label.
5️⃣ SYNTHETIC DYE RESIDUE IN TEXTILES - what your baby sleeps on is as important as what goes on their skin. OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 tests for over 100 harmful substances including dye residues. This is why it’s non-negotiable for us. 🔬

We see you. 🤍
The parent who has researched every ingredient. Questioned every fabric. Switched every detergent. Attended every dermatology appointment and still left with more questions than answers.
The parent who knows that “just use cotton” isn’t good enough when your baby’s skin barrier is already compromised.
The parent raising a child with delicate hair who has struggled to find a baby brand that acknowledged both challenges exist simultaneously.
The Sensitive Curl Co. was built by someone who has been exactly where you are. Every product decision, every certification choice, every seam construction was made with your family in mind.
We open this June. You won’t need to search anymore. 🌿
