Most people think healing is just about willpower. But the truth is, your brain is likely suffering from Decision
Fatigue.

In the past, old "rules" made your choices for you. They were restrictive, but they were "simple." Now, every
snack, every social invite, and every rest day feels like a high-stakes negotiation. You aren’t failing; you’re
just out of mental bandwidth.

The Bluebird Membership is designed to be your "external brain." We provide the systems and the roadmap
so you can stop negotiating with yourself and start actually living.

You spend 1 hour a week in therapy. But what about the other 167 hours? 🕊

Traditional outpatient care often treats recovery like an appointment, but recovery happens while making a decision on what to eat, while preparing meals, while shopping and during social occasions.

That gap can feel like a vacuum, where all the eating disorder behaviours are impossible to break on your own.

Read our latest blog to understand why the system is failing you and how we’re bridging the gap. Link in

EDAW 2026 with a focus on community - so important in ED recovery.

Photos from The Bluebird Centre's post 25/02/2026

This week is eating disorder awareness week with a focus on community. Eating disorders can be incredibly isolating - both for the person experiencing it and often for the family supporting their loved ones. At the bluebird centre we recognise how privileged we are to be part of someone's journey and to be trusted to support their recovery.

We refer to raising children as "it takes a village". This is as much the case in recovering from an eating disorder. If you are currently struggling alone, we would encourage you to use this week to open up to a loved one and slowly build your village to support your recovery.

Often the thing that stops or slows down recovery is hating the feeling of guilt that follows enjoying a meal. But that guilt shows that you are winning and the more you keep pushing, the faster the guilt disappears.

The only time I find it helpful using scales is if I am helping someone to weight restore. Otherwise, weighing can tend to get in the way of recovery.

Guilt is really hard and often takes the enjoyment out of eating. It can be overcome, though, by repeating that meal/food enough times that it becomes so normal that you don't think about it anymore. Think of a food you don't eat because it makes you feel guilty and now look at how you can have it on a weekly basis and then add the next food and the next until over time, your repertoire of foods grows and you slowly build food freedom.
