Why Thailand Celebrates 12/12 as National Thai Massage Day

12 December marks National Nuad Thai Day, commemorating the recognition of Thai massage by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Nuad Thai represents centuries of healing wisdom, teacher–student lineage, and cultural pride. Today, it also supports livelihoods, wellness tourism, and Thailand’s creative economy.

Now in its 6th year, the celebration includes teacher-honouring ceremonies, traditional demonstrations, and knowledge sharing across the country.

At Boon Sappaya, we continue this legacy in central London — preserving the authenticity, skill, and spirit of traditional Thai massage while offering a sanctuary of calm for our community.

12/12 is more than a date — it is a celebration of living heritage.

As we celebrate the start of a new year, we want to take a moment to thank you for your incredible support over the past year. It has been an honour to be part of your wellness journey, and we are deeply grateful for your trust and loyalty.

To continue providing you with the highest quality care, we’ve made some necessary adjustments due to
rising operational costs. Beginning 15th January 2025, the following updates will take effect:

• Foot, Head, and Relaxing Massages
30-minute sessions will increase from £38 to £43.

• Deep Tissue, Back + Neck + Shoulder, Traditional Thai, and Thai Combination Massages
30-minute sessions will increase from £40 to £45.

• Couples' Treatments
We will no longer offer 45-minute sessions. Couples' bookings will now begin at 60 minutes. (**Effective immediately)

maintain the exceptional care and relaxation experience you’ve come to expect from us.
