Why Is It So Important?

T U R M E R I C L A T T E

This is our take on the age old Haldi Doodh. That is Turmeric Milk. A drink used for thousands of years in other cultures.

As a homage to this beautiful drink and it’s healing properties, we have developed this little recipe.

1 heaped tsp Organic Turmeric
1/2 tsp Organic Cinnamon
1 small stick cinnamon
4-5 cardamom pods (slightly bruised for a better infusion)
2 stars, star anis
large crack of black pepper
1 tsp loose leaf Rooibos tea (if you don’t have looseleaf then just split open a tea bag!)
Large chunk of grated ginger

Put all the ingredients in an inch of water, stir slowly and bring to the boil.

Once the mixture is boiling, top up the pan with your choice of either organic milk or organic coconut milk.

Sweeten to taste with organic palm sugar.

Pour through a tea strainer and serve while it’s hot.

The benefits of turmeric are numerous but to name a few, it is:
- Anti-inflammatory
- Antioxidant
- Pain reducing

A tip: Don’t be tempted to leave out the black pepper as it acts synergistically with the Turmeric. This is because the piperine in black pepper helps the body absorb the amazing benefits of turmeric.

This wonder drink also features the ever powerful cinnamon, which is great for controlling blood sugar. Ginger which is another super antioxidant and anti-inflammatory and Rooibos which aids in digestion and supports strong bones.

You can drink this as a preventative and a cure.
