It is with a heavy heart that I announce that Bumi is closing its doors. It’s been a truly incredible 5 years, full of highs, challenges and everything in between. I started this business with a dream of normalising natural and organic beauty products, and it has flourished into so much more than that. I am proud that we have managed to support our planet and our lovely customers on their skincare journey, and I hope that we have influenced you on some level to think about your purchases when it comes to your skin and the earth.
Running and trying to grow a brand can be challenging, and I recently became a mum to my lovely twins, Arden & Gaia. Although I had dreamed of keeping Bumi alive, I have decided to put my full effort into being a mother. I often refer to Bumi as my firstborn child, and it has been a difficult decision to make and a tough reality to accept, even if it is the right one.
It’s been a pleasure to work alongside a community of brands who want to do good in the world. Special thanks go to our partner and friends at , who have really helped us grow as a brand and supported me while I’ve been on maternity leave by distributing orders and taking care of our stock. If you haven’t already visited the store then you must. A big thank you to my parents who have supported Bumi – especially when I went full time and ran out of money - Thank you for believing in me. Finally, thank you to all of you as my customers. Without you, we wouldn’t have made it this far so thank you for giving us a chance and showing us so much love.

Our Story
Hello I’m Imogen! I was born in Cambridge, brought up all over, and have lived in London for 9 years. I am absolutely in love with the arts: music is my therapy and painting is my expression, and have always been a maker, a do-er and dancer. When I’m not doing Bumi, I'm helping other people and organisations reach their goals by improving their ways of working. I really love solving problems and helping people!
During the 9 years that I have lived in London, I have come to realise that London life really does take it’s toll on the mind, body and soul. The pollution, late nights, underground and not to mention hormones and every day dramas can wreak havoc on your skin (amongst other things) if you don’t learn how to balance. I never had perfect skin, and I certainly didn’t help improve the situation. Like many other people, I didn’t understand what I was putting on my skin, and believed the ‘promises’ told to me by brands in the hope that I would look and feel better. I whacked anything on that looked good and was cost effective.
Therein lies the problem.
