What a wonderful summer evening we had last night at the Ringway Centre!
With London reaching 35°C, we took our July Open Mic into the garden, where a welcome breeze, great music and even better company made for a memorable evening.
We also celebrated two very special birthdays, raising a glass of homemade plum, peach and grape juice to Freddy, who turns 94 today, and Grace, who celebrated her 81st birthday this week. Along with fresh fruit juice and homemade cake, there was plenty of singing, laughter and friendship to go around.
A huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped make it such a special evening.
If you've never joined us before, why not come along? Our Open Mic takes place on the second Thursday of every month, welcoming musicians, singers and listeners of all abilities. Next week, we'll be back for our Music Night (Singalong) on the third Thursday of the month, where everyone is encouraged to join in with familiar favourites.
Community is built one song at a time.

One of the things I love most about Ayurveda is that it encourages us to pay attention.
How are we sleeping?
How are we eating?
How are we feeling?
What do we need more of, and what do we need less of?
During our Summer Reset Mini Retreat at Colfe's, we'll explore how the summer season affects us and learn simple practices that can help us feel more balanced, energised and at ease.
Alongside Yoga, breath work and relaxation, you'll leave with practical ideas that you can take into everyday life.

What if your next meditation lasted… one strawberry? 🍓
No incense. No mountain top. No need to “empty your mind.”
Just pick up a strawberry.
👀 Look at it.
🤲 Feel its texture.
👃 Smell it.
😋 Take one slow bite.
💧 Notice the juice, the flavour, the way it changes as you chew.
🌿 Swallow with awareness.
That’s mindfulness.
We spend so much of life rushing through moments that we barely experience them. Slowing down for just one strawberry can remind us that meditation doesn’t always mean sitting still for 30 minutes. Sometimes it simply means being fully present for one delicious bite.
Give it a try today… and let me know: could you resist eating the whole punnet straight afterwards? 😉🍓
The is a social hub for the community with incredible events for young and old. It is run by volunteers and I am very involved with it ❤️

Happy full moon energy brings cooling, nourishing and expansive energy in Ayurveda, gently amplifying whatever is already present within us and inviting us to pause, reflect and soften rather than push.
Just as the moon influences the tides, it can remind us to notice the inner tides of our own body and mind. This is a beautiful time to slow down, spend time in nature, practise gentle yoga, and choose foods and rituals that bring balance and steadiness.
May this moon illuminate not only the landscape before us, but also the quiet wisdom within us.
