Abit of role reversal this week! This is the legend that actually made me want to be a barber!!
Chay was my barber from 16 to 12 years ago in Nottingham at the legendary .barbers !
After having my heart set on going in the army for a few years and realising I just needed a change of scene and needed to move out of my estate; I found myself abit lost for nearly a year after leaving school not knowing what to do with myself. I slowly started picking Chays brain a few times during each haircut.. soaking in the barbershop environment.. the laughter, the creativity.. the feel good factor and how much we actually need that in life.. and his feedback on being a barber made me want to get involved and do just what he was doing. What an uplifting moment being able to sit you down and look after you 🔥 ✨

Today I retire. I don’t wanna be hairy anymore.

Random April Fools fact: 29 years ago today, my mothers waters broke. It was about to be day one on The Connor Calder Show. Unfortunately I wasn’t quite THE April fool. I came into this world early hours on April 2nd 1993, so I’m just “a” April fool, not “the” April fool. I’ll take that 😎

It’s bitter sweet having images of cutting hair for people that are no longer with us. It both makes me smile to have the memories and have felt lucky to have been able to take care of them while they were here… but sad to know I’ll never see that smile again and hear you laugh. Rest Peacefully Miguel ❤️✨
