What should you wear during a heatwave? ☀️🥵

You can never really be prepared for a heatwave. And despite being Italian, I can confirm that I don’t magically cope with it any better than anyone else! 🇮🇹😂

Alongside the usual advice — drink plenty of water, stay in the shade, and keep cool whenever possible — what you wear can make a huge difference to how comfortable you feel.

Here are three simple rules I swear by:

✨ 1. Choose natural fabrics
Think linen, cotton and silk. These fabrics allow your skin to breathe and help moisture evaporate naturally. Avoid synthetic fabrics like polyester, nylon and acrylic, which tend to trap heat and make you feel hotter.

🤍 2. Opt for lighter colours
White is the obvious choice, but soft pastels and other light shades also help by reflecting sunlight rather than absorbing it. There’s a reason why you see so many white buildings in hot countries like Greece!

👗 3. Prioritise comfort over body shape
If shorts aren’t an option, choose loose, relaxed silhouettes. They may not be the most figure-flattering or what your stylist would usually recommend, but during a heatwave, comfort comes first. Tight, clingy clothes trap heat and can make you feel even warmer.

Sometimes style is about knowing when to compromise — and dressing for the weather is one of those times.

Actually, no. 😊

I’ve been styling Ceylan for years. As the founder of Ceylan Boyce (Jay) , she hosts regular events and always wants to look powerful and aligned with her brand.

But she’s always said:

“I don’t want to buy something new every time or spend loads on event outfits.”

Fair enough!

Now, looking at this outfit, you might think it cost hundreds…

✨ The trousers came from a charity shop.
✨ The top was originally a dress I found on Vinted for about £25!

When it arrived, it was too tight at the bottom, so instead of sending it back, I suggested we turn it into a top—because the interesting part was the top anyway!

And what a result 😍

A standout look that reflected her personal brand and made her feel amazing… without spending a fortune.
