🟡 Xanthelasma Palpebrarum, more commonly referred to as just Xanthelasma is simply a superficial cholesterol deposit just under the surface of the skin.

👁️Deposits can vary in size from small dots to large patches around both eyes and are generally yellow in colour.

⚕️Whilst the lesions are completely harmless, in about 50% of cases they can be an indicator of high cholesterol so we always recommend having a cholesterol test and having the condition noted on your medical records prior to seeking removal.

❗They are not contagious but they can spread and get bigger over time.

⚡Removal is simple but can require multiple treatments.

🩹The area can scab after treatment so you may want to plan your removal carefully around important events.
