As a freelancer, sometimes you forget the jobs or the names because you're work spans over live shows, TV and music video.

I can't quite believe this was almost 20 years ago!

I had fun creating a look that had been in my head a few weeks - good to get it out at college while students cracked on with their assignment.
I used various items, mainly Kryolan Professional Make-up Aqua Colour palettes.
These loose, painterly techniques are free and energetic, rather than intricate. It felt good to be playful.

When I say bespoke, I mean bespoke! Today I was working on a shoot with a woman who had severe allergies to skincare, makeup and foods so I did some research and realised I just need one brand I trust and to make contact with, prior to the shoot day. I chose Cosmetics à la Carte and contacted Co-Founder and Cosmetics Scientist, Lynne Sanders - not only is having access precious, it aligns with their philosophy towards beauty - being bespoke with carefully considered ingredients.
As a Make up Artist, I could then reassure my client and sitter knowing I've arrived fully prepared. This profession isn't so much about the application as you might think but all the other moving parts that lead to a continuous and fulfilling career.

I took the long route to Cosmetics à la Carte for their launch of Bare Sculpt contour stick - what a treat to spend time with their Makeup Artist's and co founder, Lynne Sanders.

Keeping it fresh and light for Ana, who attended Stories With Clothes Style Reconnect event on Friday.
My demo showed how to enhance features and add glow. My Nadira V Persaud Store Duo Facial Cleansing Brush prepped skin by oxygenating and boosting circulation- this deep cleanse gets skin looking well rested and no need for heavy formulations.

What's coming up this Spring?

More educational responsibilities- teaching Media Mup at Kingston College and getting 1st Year students over the finish line for their final show. Taking part in the preparing futures of 3rd Yrs students at UAL London College of Fashion by offering advice on CV's, websites, socials and more. Mentoring is something I've often done for particular artists and I am booked to help a future graduate on her CV jn a few weeks. All this and trying to complete my Level 3 Award in Education and Training.
Since filming with Cosmetics a la Carte this week, I've been booked for several freelance jobs - whoohoo and I'll be sorting my make up kit for the upcoming Style Reconnect event, next Friday in St Albans, where I will demo, sell my NVP products and share a plethora of tips!

Teaching at Kingston College for Media Make up students has been a learning curve and today was a boost when I introduced an alternative wig challenge with unconventional material. We were lucky enough to receive a box of bottle tops, foil, foam and filling amongst other materials
Some students created "out of the box" creations while others used materials they wouldn't normally use. This exercise pushed their creative abilities and expectations.
Colourful hairballs were inspired by Matthew Williamson 1997 LFW show "Electric Angels."
Impactful and unconventional work!
