ONLINE WORKSHOP ON AYURVEDA - YOGA NUTRITION
"Impact of lifestyle, eating habits, thoughts and emotions on our digestion".
According to Ayurveda and Yoga, eating well is not just a matter of choosing which foods to consume. There are other fundamental aspects to be taken into consideration to ensure that our diet is truly nutritious and healthy.
When we are stressed or angry, afraid or jealous etc., our digestion becomes affected and so does the quality of food, its assimilation, and tissues regeneration (Dhatus).
In this workshop, we will learn how diet quality and mental and emotional states affect the process of digestion and absorption of nutrients, and how to bring it to balance (guidelines and techniques). In order to better understand and support this process we will learn basic concepts of Ayurveda and how to use this knowledge at a practical level to our benefit.
We will learn:
- the five elements and the three forces ( Vata, Pitta and Kapha ) that govern the entire universe and our organism
- the qualities of food ( Gunas)
- the tastes ( Rasas )
- toxic combinations (Virudha Ahar)
- best times of the digestive fire ( Agni )
- digestive fire, Ama (toxins) and health according to Ayurveda-Yoga
- seasons ( Ritus )
- metabolism according to Ayurveda-Yoga ( Dhatus , tissue regeneration)
- impact of mental state / emotions / stress / attachments on vital energy ( Prana ) and digestive fire ( Agni )
- impact of emotions on the chakras and metabolism
- yogic techniques to improve digestive fire ( Agni )
- ayurvedic spices to improve digestive fire ( Agni )
This is an online workshop (via zoom) taught by Yogi Jivan Vismay, Shri Vivek Yoga teacher.
