I left school at 15 to train hairdressing. Here's what happened next. 🎙

Hair and makeup obsessed at 13 as a young EMO kid, I started experimenting hair colours (and cut!) on myself and soon after on my friends. I started charging 10 euros for purple dye. I used my school scissors to fix my friend´s fringes at school. ✂

I absolutely hated school so I told my mum at 14 I'd be a hair and makeup artist in London. Living in Paris at the time, I left school at 15, started a hairdressing apprenticeship. ✨

4 years later and 2 hair graduations/Diploma I decided to do The Makeup Forever Academy of Paris. The next year I took the bold decision to leave. Move to London. At the time I wanted to work in Fashion part time as well as the hairsalon. I moved to London summer 2015 at only 20yo without speaking English and had a job within 48 hours. ⭐📣

Sixteen years later the beginning of my journey, multiple brides, weddings across the UK and Europe, and a private studio in East London.

Everything I would do in the 30 days before your wedding for genuinely glowing skin.

As a bridal hair and makeup artist based in London, the question I'm asked more than any other is about skin.

Specifically: what should I be doing before the wedding?

Here are my ULTIMATE secrets to achieve glowy, hydrated skin (none of these recommendations are sponsored btw I genuinely love them and most are affordable !)

1. Double cleanse (at night) I use 2 cleansers - Oil based first to remove most makeup and a creamy cleanser for removing the last bits.
I only use mineral water from a spray bottle in the morning and wipe out.

2. Exfoliate EACH DAY with gentle exfoliation. Daily Microfololient by Dermalogica . Pricey but SO worth it . Leaves the cleanest softest skin

3. Jojoba oil or any oil (only for dry skin) apply before cream it will leave the softest glowing skin.

4. SPF 50. We already know that sun is making you wrinkly, put the god damn SPF (regardless of the weather or season!) I love the beauty of Joseon as it feels hydrating and light weight and does not leave any white flashes.

As a very dry skin girl I would highly recommend Welleda skin food rich (some people have breakout so I believe this is good only if your skin is very dry) but SO GOOD. And great price too

5. Weekly face masks (ideally 2x/week) I like hydrating /collagen face masks but if you have oily skin opt for argile or something that will balance the excess of oil.

6. Vaseline for lips. Why would you spend 20 bucks into a lip treatment 🫠

So what’s the secret really ? CONSISTENCY. How much you spend in a product will not define your success. It may help but the real secret is consistency.

On top of that you can consider doing dermaplaning / micro needling/ hydro facials or skin boosters to help take the results to the next level.
