PRE-ORDER NOW - Roasting and dispatching 1st June

It’s time once again for our Daterra Masterpiece edition. This year feels especially meaningful, as the release coincides with our first visit to the Daterra farm in Minas, Brazil, a dream come true to see where these remarkable lots are grown and processed with such meticulous care. We were fortunate to win this Gesha lot, an absolute stunner and one of the standouts of the auction. In the cup, we’re tasting cherry cola, loads of stone fruit like plums and peaches, watermelon candy and sugarcane, and a gentle herbal undertone reminiscent of green tea.

*Anything ordered with this item will also be dispatched on 1st June.

For the last two editions, our Future Coffee box has been focussed on species that have the genetic potential for providing alternatives to our current coffee crop mainstays, Arabica and Robusta. This year, we take things a step further and present rare and new interspecies hybrids, alongside some of their parental species, and one of the rarest coffees in the world. This is the first public presentation of Coffea × libex (Libex) a newly identified hybrid between Liberica and Excelsa, alongside the Tree Coffee Hybrid (Excelsa × Arabica) and Aramosa (Racemosa × Arabica) making it a unique opportunity to try some truly singular coffees.

We will be brewing these super rare coffees between 09:00 - 11:00 on Thursday and Friday, joined by friends Komal and Pannaga from South India Coffee Company and Dr Aaron Davis from the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (Friday only) who will be happy to answer your questions regarding the new research paper on Libex coffee, hybridisation, and the future of coffee.

We will have a limited number of Future Coffee box sets available each morning and will hold a few back for sale on the website after the festival.

Get them while you can!

Is this one of the best coffees we’ve ever tried from Peru? Damn, we didn’t think it was possible to fall more in love with this often underrated origin. This washed Gesha from a young producer is so good it took first place in the Best of Cajamarca competition and earned Yulisa a record-breaking price at auction. The lot is beautifully complex, showing some of the highly prized characteristics typical of the Gesha variety. We taste stone fruit like apricot, juicy citrus reminiscent of fresh lime, a heady jasmine-like florality, and a deep brown sugar sweetness.

Have you tried this yet? We have a little remaining of this stellar lot from Yemen.

Yemen is famed as the first country to grow coffee commercially and is home to some pretty unique cup profiles, partly due to the varieties that have developed and mutated there over the centuries. This lot is from Jarma, an extremely high-altitude village in Haraz, one of the regions that produces some of our favourite coffees from this country. This delightful cup shows juicy cranberry and pink grapefruit flavours, balanced by tropical fruit notes and a rich sweetness reminiscent of dried fruits and honey.

Join us for CROSSROADS II, an interactive deep dive into the real-world decisions, constraints, and technologies that shape the coffees you work with long before they reach the roastery.

Drawing from Mió’s estate and producer network, we’ll explore coffee production at scale (or Coffeecraft, as they call it), from farm to wet mill, dry mill, raised beds, and beyond.

We’ll unpack how infrastructure, weather, timing, logistics, and human choices influence quality, consistency, and flavour, because great coffee is built on well-judged trade-offs in unpredictable conditions.

Expect guided discussion, shared problem-solving, and a tasting of Mió coffees roasted by PLOT.

Meet the people behind the process and see what it truly takes to make reliable coffee in an unpredictable world.
