GLOSSY WAVES FOR DAYS

POP OF COLOUR
Adding in colour to your eye make up is such a great way of tying in colour themes for weddings, to highlight the colour of the dress you’re wearing or sometimes just a fab way of making your eye colour pop, but colour doesn’t have to be scary!
No more do we have to have flashbacks of the 80s with bright blue eyes and pink cheeks, although done right and with current trends this can look fab too!!
But take this make up for example, just a subtle twist on a smudgy liner to a purple instead of black or brown just brings this clients face and colouring to life! Don’t be afraid to give it a go!

YOU ARE AMAZING!
I can’t tell you how many times clients have pointed out to me their many “flaws” or parts of themselves they are not happy with. To be honest, I know I’m so guilty of this too.
It’s like it’s almost become engrained in us to think less of ourselves if we aren’t “perfect” and what is perfect anyway? A highly photoshopped and heavily edited image? Hardly something we should aspire too. It’s an impossible goal to try and reach.
Having worked on countless faces over the years I can assure you that we all have “flaws” but that your “flaws” are what make you unique, what make you beautiful and I think it’s about time we all embraced our wonderful selves. Don’t you?

ESSENTIALS
I couldn't create these lovely hair do's without my go to techni pli. This heat activated product gives the hair shape and memory and is my absolute staple when creating any hair do. Whether that be down or in an up do.

NOT JUST BRIDAL
Did you know I also do hair and make up for tv and commercials??
I've always enjoyed splitting time between the different areas of make up. Whether that has been for weddings, fashion shoots, tv shows or advertising. Being behind the scenes seeing these things come together has always excited me but I think has also given me great experience to understand what goes into perfecting your hair and make up to suit not only how you look in person but also how it will look on camera and video.

HI! IT'S ME!
Welcome to all my new followers.
Got to say a huge thank you to for getting this photo of me doing my thing! I love it so I just had to share.
For anyone new to my page I'm Lauren. Make up artist and hair stylist, wife, mum to 2 kids and 1 lovebird (long story!) oh, and a fish! Lover of theatre, movies, travelling the world and those that know me well.......FOOD!
Fun fact: I can play the piano, started learning when I was 5 and I did one exam when I was younger which was grade 3 which I passed with Honours.

PERCEPTION
I think so many of us fall into this preconceived idea of how we should look. We all sit on Instagram for hours on end looking at these so called "perfect" images and then berate ourselves for not looking the same. I know I have!
But let's stop doing this to ourselves. Nothing and nobody is perfect. The images we look at majority of the time are airbrushed and filtered and lets not forget celebrities have a whole team of make up, hair and stylists behind them.
Let's embrace the beauties that we are, with all our gorgeous flaws, fine lines from laughing too much and in my case an ever growing hairy face....I meant what is that about!? Who's with me??

HALF UP
The nice in between style. If like me you're not one for wearing your hair up but also don't want to just have your usual 'down' style then a half up could be a great option. You could pair it with some loose beachy waves for a more relaxed boho feel or go with some more glossy brushed out Hollywood waves for something a bit more sophisticated. Whatever takes your fancy!

DEWY SKIN
If you hadn't gathered already I'm all about dewy/glossy skin. Is there nothing more beautiful than skin that just looks fresh and radiant? Here are a few of my essential products for creating this look.
Hollywood Flawless Filter, Beauty Light Wands
Vanish Flash Highlighting Stick
My absolute fave but unfortunately no longer available Liquified Light Highlighter
Go for products that are creamy and have a gorgeous sheen to create that radiant glow. Try to avoid anything with too much sparkle and glitter.
