fun fact, my dissertation title was -

‘Never brown enough’ - An exploration into the representation of South Asian diaspora in Western film and television.

was mentioned so often in my writing and in my interviews about how he’s shaping the culture and doing his bit for us british south asian’s on screen.
i wrote that dissertation 9 years ago.
this series is something i would’ve been so excited about regardless, so getting to say i worked on this STACKED south asian production is something i’m very happy about.

i only played a very very small part but i enjoyed every day - thank you so so much to the incredible hair and makeup designer and crowd supervisor for having me in as a crowd hair and makeup artist ❤️ and to the rest of the wonderful dailies, crowd team and main team. you were all a joy to work with!

and shoutout to the two punjabi aunty SAs who were fighting over me and claiming one was my masi and the other was my pua. lmaooo

RESETTING! defo feeling vulnerable posting the clips of me looking ROUGH, but i think it’s important to show that sometimes when you’re feeling crap we tend to think badly of ourselves, but maybe it’s just that you need a little moment to reset.
this might seem excessive to some people, but i felt like a stranger looking at myself in the mirror these last couple week whilst working in london.
my skin felt awful, i was puffy, lacking sleep, not drinking enough water, moving between hot and cold temperatures (mostly cold), wearing hats a lot, showering in hard water, long days on set.
i didn’t pack all my fav hair & skincare bits and i forgot my tweezers (and i feel gross when my eyebrows aren’t done - i’m sure many ladies can relate to that!!!)
plus, i hadn’t gone to the gym / had a good sweat in 2 weeks.
this reset from putting on my laundry before the gym and finishing my skincare & hair was 2.5 hours - and 1h20 of that was the gym & shower. so it didn’t take me that long! and it was completely worth it.
i feel like myself again!
i also made sure to unpack my suitcase and pack away my hair and makeup kit last night when i got home even though i was shattered - if i put that off i think i would’ve ended up doing nothing today and feeling like crap.
i’m feeling sooo ready to get back into the clinic tomorrow now!
also my first time trying that r3 mask and i LOVE IT!

sometimes we don’t talk at all during the treatment and sometimes we yap away (not during the massage though, i want you to feel every bit of it!) and both are a wonderful time 🤍
so grateful for the women and men who trust me with their skin, their time, and their stories. this part of my work will never stop meaning everything to me!

what makes me happy is when someone comes in tense and leaves looking like they’ve just had the best nap of their life 🥹 they always say “i feel lighter somehow” before they even see their skin. well, you are lighter!! ✨ the dead skin’s gone, the lymph’s moving, the fascia’s released and you finally gave yourself permission to switch off. everyone deserves that ❤️
