My skin journey...
As a facialist and skincare professional, the pressure to have 'good skin' is hectic. How can I give others advice when my own skin is so s**t?.
I have suffered with adult acne on and off as long as I can remember, and finally, I am at peace with it.
The most recent outbreak I had was a year ago, and my journey is the same as countless women I speak to in my treatment room involving contraceptive pills, antibiotics, and topical prescription medications***. I have managed it this time with a holistic approach, adapting habits from my lifestyle as a whole rather than just trying to treat the acne.
This is not a post to advise people on what to do to treat spot prone skin, but more to say that if you come and see me with low confidence, I get it!
I found a new confidence during this last cycle of acne, with a golden nugget mantra that one of my lovely clients imparted on me... "your spots are the least interesting thing about you".

It was partly opening up to clients about my own skin that helped. Somehow, people seemed comforted by the fact that I didn't have perfect skin! It's a work in progress, but I am the happiest I have ever been with my skin condition, and I really want to help others to feel the same.
The next steps for me are firstly to enjoy my skin as it is for now and also work on PRO ageing.
