Wow! This truly brought a tear to my eyes. The athleticism, commitment, stakes, strive for perfection.
People and beings at a state of mind and where they are present and truly care about something.
Definitely one of my draws to why I chose to become a performer in the first place.
When I injured myself while performing many years back, I thought I’ve lost everything I’d worked for.
I was really lucky when yoga found me. It gave me a sense of purpose, grounding and flexibility not only in my body but mind and heart.
Today, I work as a sports therapist, helping people get back on stage, teaching performers and circus artists to manage, recover from pains, injuries to fulfil the things they care about. In a sense I am living vicariously through them, I guess.
Not only that, the knowledge I later found while trying to help others also helped me to find my feet to work as a performer again (which sadly came to a hiatus due to Rona).
This week marks the final week of my full-time work as a yoga teacher and sports therapist. I’m cutting back on my classes to the bare minimum.. because I’m going back on stage again!

Some days, I just want to curl up and rest. I think I’ve been pushing myself a bit hard since I got back from Singapore. I’m still trying to find clarity if it’s just a case that I need to build up my stamina again or I’m not resting effectively. I am so tired. How are you feeling?

I always like to teach yoga like how I would teach a physical theatre or a dance class. Let your eyes guide your body, really envision and “look” at something, and train your body to move towards it. Only then your body will always learn to move towards what your mind and heart desire. Do you agree? 📸
