The Alkaline Diet Myth Meets Physiology 24/02/2026

I believe this is so important to share, medical evaluation versus Influencers' opinions. This could mean life and death : the acid alkaline debate. Read on, it is worth taking time to understand what is 'not quite right' with the alkaline diet myth.

The Alkaline Diet Myth Meets Physiology The ‘acidity myth’ is widely marketed; however, true systemic acidosis is rare in healthy individuals, and alkali therapy has limited evidence outside specific diseases.

Breathing to Feel Calm and Balanced (40/60 Method)

Pocket Breath Coach is the only app that lets you customize your breath rhythm down to 0.1-second accuracy. Download for free

Enjoy this calming breathing exercise.

Inhale 4.4 seconds
Exhale 6.6 seconds

You take 5.5 breaths per minute when doing this breathing exercise.

The principle behind this 40%-60% ratio is the power of the extended exhale. By deliberately making your out-breath longer than your in-breath, you send a direct signal to your Autonomic Nervous System to shift into its most balanced, resting state. This action maximizes the vagal brake effect, helping you to immediately feel calm and balanced.

Should you breathe through your nose or mouth?
Go with what feels comfortable and relaxing to you, but here's what many people find helpful:
- Breathe in softly through your nose
- Breathe out through your mouth, like you're softly blowing on hot food to cool it down
- Or simply breathe in and out through your nose if that feels better for you

Let your belly expand on the inhale and soften on the exhale. Try to keep your chest still. When you breathe out, let your shoulders drop and relax. Keep the shoulders relaxed when you breathe in.

Breathe in deeply, but not so full it hurts. Aim for about 75% full. Calm, not forced.

How long should you do this?
Do what feels comfortable and relaxing to you. Most people enjoy between 1-20 minutes. If you're new to breathing exercises, just try it for a minute or two and see how you feel.

Breathing in a slow, steady rhythm helps signal safety to your nervous system. It activates the parasympathetic "rest and digest" response. Your muscles relax and your heart rate may go down. You may even notice your mind getting quieter. With regular practice, you can feel calmer, think clearly, and drift off to sleep more easily.

YESSSSS Andre Rieu, awesome. Thank the universe for individuals like Andre Rieu.

BREAKING NEWS: World-renowned violinist and conductor André Rieu just delivered a powerful message that left some of the world’s richest and most influential people stunned — and then he backed up his words with action.
At a lavish black-tie gala in Manhattan, surrounded by billionaires, champagne glasses, and egos large enough to fill a concert hall, Rieu took the stage to accept a Lifetime Achievement Award — but instead of giving the polite, predictable speech everyone expected, the Dutch maestro spoke from the heart.

He didn’t thank sponsors, or talk about fame, or deliver a rehearsed note of gratitude.
Instead, he looked out at a room filled with the world’s wealthiest — including Mark Zuckerberg and several Wall Street moguls — and said:
“If you are blessed with wealth, use it to bless others.
No man should build palaces while children have no homes.
If you have more than you need, it is not truly yours — it belongs to those in need.”
The entire room fell silent.
According to eyewitnesses, Zuckerberg and other tech billionaires sat motionless — no clapping, no smiles — just quiet discomfort as Rieu’s words echoed through the hall.
Of course they didn’t clap. The truth makes the comfortable uneasy.
Because Rieu wasn’t speaking about envy — he was speaking about responsibility.
And he didn’t stop at words. That same evening, André Rieu Foundation announced a $10 million donation to build schools, hospitals, and housing in impoverished communities across Africa and the Mediterranean — proving that compassion isn’t just performed, it’s lived.
Rieu’s message was simple, timeless, and deeply human:
“Wealth means nothing if it doesn’t lift others.”
While billionaires chase luxury and applause, Rieu reminded the world that true greatness is measured not by what you keep — but by what you give.
In an age where greed is glamorized and generosity is forgotten, the maestro once again used his voice — not just to perform, but to awaken.
🎵 André Rieu didn’t just play tonight. He made the world listen.
