One big problem with some Nigerians newly landed in the UK is this mad rush for ILR and mortgage sharp-sharp.

Everybody wants results FAST.
No patience.
No long game.

Meanwhile, many Asians are not shouting.
They are studying routes, securing their stay, and building quietly.
No noise. No pressure. Just strategy.

Same UK.
Same system.
Different mindset.

Sometimes it’s not the system failing us —
it’s the haste.

Talk your own 👇

Quick-quick mentality vs quiet strategy.
Same UK.
Different results.

They used to knock on my door and run. Then they started throwing stones. Months later, it was an egg on my window at night. This is a part of my UK settling-in story I never expected to share.

When I moved to the UK, I knew life would be different, but I didn’t expect some of the challenges that came with settling into a new environment. At first, some children in our neighborhood began disturbing our home — knocking and running away, and sometimes throwing stones at the house. I couldn’t help but wonder if it was because I looked different, because of my skin color or race. I had heard people talk about such experiences, but I never thought it would happen to me.

One day, a boy knocked on the door and didn’t run fast enough. I opened it, and from that moment, something shifted. He became friendly with my children and started visiting our home. He was much younger than them and harmless. Still, even with that familiarity, the stone-throwing didn’t completely stop.

Another day, an apple was thrown at our door. I stepped outside and walked down the street and noticed children running from their hiding places. I didn’t shout or chase anyone. I simply made it clear that I had seen them, then quietly went back home. After that, things were calm for a while.

Months later, around 8 p.m. during a family movie night, a raw egg was thrown at our window. My husband wasn’t home at the time, so I cleaned it up myself, worried and annoyed. I prayed silently and waited for him to return.

When he got home, I told him what had happened. He wanted to confront the neighbors immediately, but I explained that I already knew one of the boys involved. My husband went to the neighbor’s house and explained the situation. The older brother admitted it was his younger brother and said he was capable of such behavior with his friends. Their father took responsibility immediately and asked his son to come and apologize.

The boys came and said, “We are sorry, ma. It will never happen again.” One of them even admitted it was foolish behavior. I accepted their apology and reminded them that just as I would never do such a thing to them, they should also never do it to me.

And that was how the situation ended — peacefully.

This experience taught me that calm confrontation, patience, and communication can turn a difficult situation into understanding and resolution, even in a place far from home. God truly resolved my fears and worries.

Have you ever experienced something like this? How did you handle it?
Someone can learn from your story.

Breaking 🚨 Destiny boy childhood friend, Big_Badda reveals the cause of his death;
I have not been able to get myself since i received a distress call. the burden on my heart has become too heavy, and i feel compelled to speak my truth. In early 2020, Destiny Boy visited my home in Lagos. he confided in me about his deep desire to rise quickly in the music industry and become globally recognized, even surpassing many established artists. like Davido, Wizkid and Olamide. then i advised him to be patient and to trust in God’s timing, believing that success achieved the right way lasts longer.

Sadly, he says he could no longer wait. as a close friend, i failed him. Instead of standing firm in my advice, i allowed myself to be carried along by his desperation and ambition, then he said he knows one baba in Ogun state. then we his friends agree to go with him to meet the baba Ikudaisi populary known as Ikudaisi Osha who lives in Ogun state Ijebu Ode. then baba Ikudaisi agreed to do the fame r!tual for him. he also stated that destiny boy will be famous for 5years that the whole wide world will knows his name and stream his songs.

but unfortunately baba Ikudaisi didn't tell us the repercussions or consequence that will comes with it. sadly i was deeply shocked when a close friend of mine, singer Bolisco, called me in the morning to inform me that Destiny Boy was vomiting bl00d. i could hardly believe it and immediately rushed to his house. Sadly, by the time i arrived, he had already passed away. i pray that his soul rests in perfect peace 🕊️ and that God, in his mercy, forgives him and grants him eternal rest in paradise 🙏
Copied.

Why the UK Is a Better Japa Option Than Many Schengen Countries (For MSc Students)

If you have about ₦13 million (after properly sorting your Proof of Funds) and you’re torn between Malta and the UK, please choose the UK.

If it’s Finland vs UK — still UK.
Bulgaria vs UK? — UK, no debate.

There are many comparisons, but let me give you 3 solid reasons why the UK remains a smarter Japa route for MSc students.

1️⃣ Job Opportunities

No matter how “bad” the UK news may sound online, the truth is this:
👉🏾 Students are more likely to get jobs in the UK than in countries like Finland, Malta, or Bulgaria.

The UK simply has more student-friendly jobs, more diverse industries, and better chances of survival while studying.

2️⃣ Visa Approval Chances

Statistically, UK study visas currently have higher approval rates than several Schengen countries.

Yes, the UK visa is expensive, but:
• Less document legalisation stress
• Clearer requirements
• Faster processing compared to many Schengen routes

The UK still behaves like a “cheerful giver” when it comes to student visas.

3️⃣ Language & Integration

Language matters — a lot.

In many Schengen countries, not speaking the local language limits your job options.
In the UK, English removes that barrier, making it easier to:
• Get work
• Blend into the system
• Adapt socially and professionally

⚠️ The UK is not perfect — no country is.
But comparatively, the advantages cannot be ignored.

If you’ve been denied Schengen study visas and your goal is to study in Europe (yes, the UK is in Europe), save yourself time and stress:
👉🏾 Apply to the UK first — then re-Japa from there.

Omo…
The woman shouted:
“DRIVERRRR PLEASE STOP THE BUS!!!”

Everybody turned.
I minded my business.

😂😂😂

Lesson:
Mind your business — not everything you see or read concerns you.

Sometimes, respecting people’s privacy will save you embarrassment, panic… and an unnecessary “DRIVERRR STOP THE BUS!” moment 😂

PART 3: “WHY THEY KEEP GOING”
Every morning, they wake up again.
They pack lunches.
Tie shoelaces.
Kiss foreheads.
And step out into the cold.
Not because it’s easy…
But because their children are watching.
They carry dreams that are not theirs alone.
Dreams that say,
“My children will not suffer like this.”
They may not have luxury.
They may not have rest.
But they have purpose.
One day, they hope their children will look back and say,
“They struggled so we could stand taller.”
This is the reality of Nigerian parents in the UK.
Uncelebrated.
Unseen.
But powerful.
❤️ If this touched you, share it.
