What an amazing transformation! Rooty balayage using Blonde me. Root melt using igora Vibrance in 6.0, 8:46 and 8.11. Glossed in 9-1 + 9-21.
Coloured to match the extensions.

Little caramel balayage glow up for this beauty today 🤎💛

First colour ever for this beauty! Her virgin hair had its own natural highlights, but she felt it had lost its “blondeness”.
By adding in a ponytail piece, a mix of diagonal teased slices and horizontal chunky teasylights throughout the back (around 14 foils in total) and giving her a herringbone placed face frame (around 10-12 foils), I was able to bring her naturally sunkissed look back without high maintenance.
When toning, I added in a root melt to give a seamless blend and make the grow out softer and an all over gloss to create this gorgeous buttery blonde.

This will last anywhere between 3-9 months with toners in between. How often she tops her face frame up is totally her prerogative. Roots bother people differently and that’s why balayage and a face frame work so well. There are no rules…… Apart from toner! Keep it fresh, keep it healthy. A 30 minute gloss appointment every 6-8 weeks will do that.

Firstly, can we just appreciate that this was a 6 month grow out! 6 months and all she needed was a freshen up. Making that face frame pop again and connecting the mids and ends to the roots. Finished with a gloss to give it that all over blend, eliminate the yellow and tone to this gorgeous, creamy blonde! See you in another 6 months lovely!

As a colour technician, you are often shown “inspo photos”. Some are do-able. Others, sadly not a chance! It’s always important to let your client know it’s something to aim towards, but never a guaranteed outcome. The lighting, editing, natural shade and tone and hair type can make it impossible to know what went into that service. Unless it’s a photo of your own work of course (always love this!).

Colour matching for me is a challenge I absolutely love to take on. It keeps me educated in knowing what tones work together, how hair types and natural shades and tones react differently and knowing what measurements are enough to neutralise tones when making concoctions.
To nail that perfect shade and tone to match the “inspo pic” is very hit and miss. But each time you learn and it can usually be corrected fairly easily if it goes against the plan. Sometimes these things take time and more than one appointment too.

So when you near enough nail a colour match, it’s honestly like winning the lottery. Trust in your skills. Trust in your products. And if it doesn’t quite go to plan, trust in the lessons you’ve learnt.

Such a pleasure to see this lovely lady today.
No permanent tint was used in this application. A mix of low lights (to add dimension) and Highligts using a foiliage technique (to add face frame and blend).
Toned down with an added root melt to blend it all together. My toners cover 75% of greys so when there’s only a few, a root melt with Highligts is the perfect combo.

This will last 3-6 months with toners in between.
