There’s always a point around this time of year where winter still lingers a little.

The colour feels heavier, the ends feel tired, and suddenly you realise your hair hasn’t quite caught up with the season yet.

What we’ve always loved to hear is that people come here for more than just the result. It’s the familiarity of the space, the conversations happening across the room, the feeling of taking a moment out in the middle of life in Hackney.

A subtle refresh. Softer shape. Healthier hair. Nothing forced.

Just a space that’s been part of the community for a long time, still doing what it does best.

A year ago, the space changed shape again.

Although truthfully, this was the third time.

13 years ago I moved into Number 90, and twice since then we’ve taken down walls and let more in. More light. More people. More of what this place was always quietly becoming.

What’s grown here hasn’t just been physical, it’s become a collective of creative stylists and wellness practitioners, different forms of care existing under one roof.

The kind of growth that happens naturally when good people build something with intention.

And somehow the space keeps evolving into more of itself.

Fuller.
Softer.
More alive than I ever could have imagined.

What I notice about the people who work here is that everyone is completely themselves.

Different personalities.
Different energies.
Different creative styles.

And somehow, that’s exactly why it works.

You feel it the moment you walk in, the talent, the care, the way everyone shows up for the people in their chair or treatment room.

Some days the space feels full and buzzing, other days it’s quieter, slower, more focused but there’s always a rhythm to it.

What started as a salon slowly became something more, a collective space people return to for the feeling as much as the hair.
