Most stylists have never been shown how to build hair. They've been shown how to style it.

There's a difference - and once you understand it, you can't unsee it.

Building hair means understanding the structure underneath before a single pin goes in. It means knowing what the finished look needs to hold, how it will behave over eight hours, and what internal architecture will get it there. Styling, by contrast, is surface work. It can look beautiful. But it doesn't hold the way built hair holds, and it doesn't read the same way on camera or across a room.

I grew up around hairdressers who built. Everything else came from that.

Hi folks,

I am looking for 3 hair models to sit for content of an online cousre I am creating called "The Period Stylist Academy". I am a film hair & make up artist with 27 years experience.

Candidates will: -

• Be confident and natural in front of a camera

• Be reliable & professional

• Have thick and luscious locks

I need 2 models with hair below the shoulder and 1 model with a long bob. Blondes and reds and light browns preferable as these colours photograph easier.

The shoot will be held at my home in Crouch End, North london towards the end of Jan to early Feb - dates TBC. The successful applicants will be paid £90 a day (9am - 6pm with an hours lunch break) - there will be multiple days.
