In response to the recent Russian invasion, we rapidly delivered war surgery training to 573 doctors online.
Now, we've further condensed our training into a six-hour recording and are translating it into Ukrainian.
We are on a mission to share it with every healthcare professional in Ukraine 💙.

I was interview by Bridget Kendall during a fantastic online event hosted by The BEARR Trust.
The event raised over £1600 for our training of 💙.
Thank you to the Trust for helping us grow our global network of life savers 🌍.

Earlier this year, we received a heartfelt letter from Waad Fellag, a sixth form student who dreams of becoming a doctor.
Waad asked if we would visit Whalley Range School in Manchester to meet her and the “many bright minds who are passionate about become doctors”, some of which have lived in war-torn countries such as Syria, Libya and Afghanistan.
Waad's passion struck a chord with us - so off to Manchester we went! 🚗
Speaking to over 100 female students, David shared: “A Lancet article revealed that 17 million people die every year due to conditions that require surgical treatment.
It’s a wonderful thing to have the skills, hands and brain to make people in need of surgery better again. A medical degree gives you a passport to help people anywhere in the world.

I was interviewed by the Chair of Action For Humanity- International, Dr Ayman Jundi, in front of 200 guests at the University of Central Lancashire. He shared his first mission in Bosnia, how he contacted President Assad's office to fight for the freedom of Syrian doctors, and how he copes with the monstrosities of conflict.
"Back in 1993, I’d just become a consultant surgeon at Charing Cross,” shared David. “I was watching the news about the Bosnian war and the terror going on there.
I remember the story of a man looking for his daughter. He found her, pulled her out the rubble and took her to hospital, but there was no doctor there. That’s when I thought I have to do something."

2022. The year no-one saw coming.
As we approach Christmas and look back at the year gone, we are immensely proud of our dedication to communities affected by conflict.
From Somaliland, to Palestine, to Ukraine, we have travelled across the globe to improve the skills of local surgeons, strengthen healthcare systems and help doctors treat devastating war wounds.
