Mai Nami: forever obsessing over the details 🩵

your scalp can tell when your body is stressed… even by your diet ⬇️
one of the biggest misconceptions in hair wellness is thinking hair health only comes from products.
but your hair growth cycle is deeply connected to what’s happening internally — especially when it comes to stress, under eating and rapid weight loss.
when the body feels under nourished, elevated cortisol and nutrient depletion can push more hairs into the shedding phase earlier than expected.
which is why after periods of:
– crash dieting
– restrictive eating
– low protein intake
– rapid weight changes
– high stress
people often notice increased shedding, dullness or slower growth a few months later.
healthy hair is built from consistency, nourishment and supporting your body long term — not punishing it short term 🩵

if you’ve been looking for a styling product that actually works for waves and curls without making you question every ingredient list… this is your sign ⬇️
our hair pudding was created to be gentle enough for the whole family, which is exactly why so many mums have fallen in love with it.
from wash days before school, to soft refresh days in between, parents consistently tell us they love that it helps define waves and curls without leaving hair crunchy, greasy or overloaded with heavy ingredients.
designed with a food-conscious, sensitive approach to haircare, it’s become a go-to for mums wanting something that feels kinder, calmer and easier to trust on younger hair textures too.
because styling your child’s hair shouldn’t feel like compromising on ingredient quality 🌊
safe-feeling formulas, softer styling routines, and healthy-looking waves that still feel like hair.
Mai Nami started from something very personal. For years, our founder Yasmine was trying product after product, always feeling like her hair was too wavy for one category and not curly enough for another. Nothing truly understood what her hair needed. So instead of settling for another quick fix, she created the product she had been looking for all along: one that cares for waves with more softness, less frizz, and a simpler routine.
Mai Nami Hair Pudding: Feed, Tame, Train, One product, three uses.
Good hair does not come from myths, it comes from giving your hair what it actually needs. From hydration to nourishment to softness and definition, every ingredient plays its part in helping waves feel healthier, calmer, and easier to love. And when they come together, they do even more.
Mai Nami Hair Pudding: Feed, Tame, Train, One product, three uses.
your hair doesn’t just need hydration — it needs enough protein to stay strong, resilient and able to hold its natural pattern ⬇️
if you have noticed:
• increased shedding
• limp and difficult to style
• more prone to breakage
there’s a chance your hair structure could be lacking protein support.
hair is primarily made from keratin — a protein — which means low protein intake, excessive heat styling, over-processing or even intense workout routines without enough nutritional support can all impact overall hair strength over time.
and for wavy hair textures especially, protein balance matters 🩵 because waves often lose shape and structure faster when the hair becomes stressed, dehydrated or under-supported internally.
healthy hair isn’t built from restriction culture.
it’s built from recovery, nourishment and giving your body enough support to actually maintain strength long term.
at Mai Nami, we’re huge advocates for balance: hydration and strength 🌊 because soft hair means nothing if the strand itself can’t stay supported.

get to know our ingredients: part 4🌹
rose water isn’t just known for smelling beautiful… its properties can actually help support calmer, softer and more hydrated hair too ⬇️
rose water contains:
🌀 antioxidants — help protect the hair and scalp from environmental stress that can leave waves looking dull, dry or tired
🌀 natural sugars + polysaccharides — help support moisture retention, which is especially important for textured hair prone to dehydration and frizz
🌀 anti-inflammatory properties — can help soothe an irritated or sensitive scalp, supporting a healthier environment for hair growth
🌀 vitamin-rich plant compounds — help support softness, shine and overall hair manageability without weighing curls and waves down
🌀 lightweight hydration — helps refresh textured hair between wash days without creating buildup or that heavy coated feeling
which is exactly why we use rose water inside Hair Pudding 🌹
to help support hydrated, soft and defined waves with a lightweight finish that feels breathable, touchable and comfortable to wear all day.
because textured hair usually performs best when it’s hydrated consistently, not overloaded with heavy silicones, drying alcohols or harsh formulas.

every food safe ingredient is there to support your waves, not fight them.
summer salads are great for hydration… but if your hair still snaps easily, your follicles might be asking for something more ⬇️
during summer, so many people unintentionally under-eat protein because they shift towards lighter meals, smaller portions and “clean eating” habits
the problem is, your hair doesn’t just need hydration to survive - it needs protein to rebuild…
hair is made from keratin, a structural protein - meaning every strand relies on amino acids from foods like eggs, chicken, steak, greek yogurt, fish, tofu or collagen sources to help maintain strength, elasticity and resilience.
so if your hair feels:
• soft but weak
• hydrated but stretchy
• shiny but still breaking
• thinner after dieting or eating less
it may not be a moisture issue at all.
vegetables absolutely support healthy hair through antioxidants, vitamins and scalp health — but they can’t replace the building blocks your strands need to stay strong.
this is your reminder not to fear protein, especially in summer. your hair health is often one of the first places under-fuelling shows up.
healthy hair needs hydration AND structure. one without the other is where breakage begins. 🩵
