Friday Fragrance - Rosemary Essential Oil 🩸

Rosemary is one of the first plants to be used for both food and medicine throughout the years. The essential oil is produced by distilling the flowering tops of the Rosemary plant with steam, and with a strong herb-mint scent the oil should be a clear or a pale-yellow liquid.

Within aromatherapy, Rosemary oil can help to boost mental stamina and increase your brain activity. These cerebral effects can also aid in the treatment of depression, mental strain, and forgetfulness too. In the middle ages Rosemary was also used to protect against the plague and to drive out evil spirits!

Inhaling Rosemary will give the immediate feeling of being uplifted, making the essential oil excellent for relief of fatigue. It can also clear your respiratory tract and relieve sore throats, colds, and coughs too.

Although Rosemary is considered non-toxic and non-irritant when diluted, it should be avoided by epileptics, expectant mothers, and those who have high blood pressure.

Friday Fragrance – Lemon Essential Oil

Within aromatherapy, Lemon oil can facilitate the relief of stress, anxiety, and fatigue. The scent of Lemon also helps to increase concentration, alertness and brings an overall positive sense to those who use it.

Lemon oil has also been used in treating coughs and colds and helps to relief symptoms of asthma. The high vitamin count of Lemon oils also makes it a great booster for the immune system too. It can improve circulation and also stimulates white blood cells – further aiding your ability to fight disease.

The essential oil is non-toxic, but it may cause skin irritation in some people so it should be used with restraint. Being phototoxic, exposing Lemon oil to sunlight is discouraged.

The oil is pale green to yellow in colour but turns brown as it ages. It has a light citrus smell and blends well with Fennel, Lavender, Sandalwood and Chamomile.

As a household cleaner Lemon oil can be used on metal surfaces such as knives to disinfect them. It can also be used in soaps and facial cleansers as it has antiseptic properties.
