Spoiler: calm mornings exist — they start in your freezer
❄️☀️ I used to wake up already behind, rushing through breakfast with cold coffee and hungry kids.

Now I keep a few simple things ready to go banana oat muffins for quick snacks, egg cups for a grab-and-go protein hit, smoothie cubes that blend in seconds, and sweet potato pancakes that make everyone happy. It’s not about perfect routines, it’s about giving your future self a little peace before the day takes over.

Proof that feeding your family well doesn’t have to take all day it just takes three smart steps that make everything easier:

1️⃣ Keep ingredients simple.
You don’t need 15 things to make a good meal. A base of grains, a few veggies, and a protein can turn into endless combos wraps, bowls, omelettes, soups. Think mix + match, not gourmet.

2️⃣ Prep once, use twice.
Double up on what you’re already making. Roast extra veggies, cook a little more rice, or make an extra tray of muffins. Tomorrow-you will thank past-you when lunch is sorted in minutes.

3️⃣ Mix and match through the week.
This is where it gets fun — turn yesterday’s leftovers into something new. That roasted chicken? Add to a salad, wrap, or stir-fry. Half a pot of lentils? Blend into soup or toss with pasta.

Feeding your family well isn’t about perfection — it’s about small habits that give you back time, energy, and peace at mealtimes. 💛

I used to think coffee was the answer — now I know it’s the small daily things that actually give me energy again.
Sunlight. Real food. Quick prep. Breathing space.
And some days… that’s enough. 💛

20/10/2025

add more to my to-do list!!

I’d think, maybe if I start journaling, go for walks, drink more water, plan meals better, do a workout, meditate…
Before I knew it, I’d turned self-care into another job.

But what I’ve realised — especially since becoming a mum of two — is that feeling better doesn’t come from doing more.
It comes from slowing down enough to actually feel.

Sometimes that looks like:
☀️ Sitting outside with my coffee instead of drinking it cold in the kitchen.
🍽️ Eating a real meal instead of my toddler’s leftovers.
💛 Saying no to something that drains me.
🌿 Breathing before reacting.

Tiny acts that remind me I’m human too — not just the one keeping everyone else together.

If you’ve been adding more and more to your list thinking it’ll help you feel better… try doing less, but doing it with intention.
That’s where peace starts to grow. 🌼

🧄 3-Ingredient Garlic Flatbread

Makes: 6 flatbreads | Time: 15 minutes

🧂 Ingredients
• 250 g self-raising flour
• 150 g plain yoghurt (Greek or natural)
• 1 tbsp olive oil, plus extra for brushing
• 1 garlic clove, finely grated or crushed
• Pinch of salt (optional)
• Fresh herbs like coriander or parsley (optional, for topping)

👩‍🍳 Method

1️⃣ Mix the flour, yoghurt, and olive oil in a bowl with a pinch of salt until a soft dough forms.
2️⃣ Knead briefly (1–2 minutes) until smooth. If sticky, dust with a little more flour.
3️⃣ Divide into 6 balls and roll each one into a thin oval or circle (about ½ cm thick).
4️⃣ Heat a dry non-stick pan over medium-high heat. Cook each flatbread for 1–2 minutes per side until puffed and golden spots appear.
5️⃣ Make garlic oil: mix a little olive oil with the grated garlic and brush over the warm flatbreads.
6️⃣ Serve warm — with curries, soups, dips, or as a snack with butter.

✨ Prep tip: Double the batch and freeze flatbreads between baking paper. Reheat in a dry pan or toaster
