Last week I had the privilege of speaking at the Obstetric Anaesthetists’ Association Conference in Liverpool on the implications of maternal medicine for the obstetric anaesthetist.

As both an NHS consultant anaesthetist and an aesthetic practitioner, I feel incredibly fortunate to work in two fields that, while seemingly very different, are built on the same foundations.

Whether I’m caring for a woman with complex medical conditions during pregnancy or helping a patient achieve their aesthetic goals, my approach remains the same: evidence-based practice, continuous learning, attention to detail, integrity, and putting patient safety first.
