Today in clinic I was working with a client experiencing significant tightness through the glutes, hips and inner thighs.

Using an integrative approach, I combined clinical soft tissue therapy with cupping therapy to help reduce tension through the lateral hip, adductors and surrounding fascial lines. Sometimes by working through the inner thigh we can also begin influencing patterns travelling into the hamstrings and quads too.

I also gave a simple movement exercise to explore at home:
From a cat position, gently round and flex through the spine while tucking the tailbone under, then slowly glide the body backwards in space. From there, return towards a neutral pelvis, lengthen through the spine and move forwards again. Repeating this with slight adduction of the leg can help explore mobility and control through the hips and pelvis in a different way.

As an integrative practitioner, I blend clinical soft tissue techniques with cupping therapy, hot stones, dry needling, movement and nervous system support to help people move with more ease and comfort.

Based in Laddingford near Paddock Wood.

If you’d like support with persistent tension, pain, movement restriction or nervous system overload, you’re welcome to book a free discovery call or a Clinical & Sports Massage Therapy session.

There’s something interesting about discomfort…

Almost everybody who comes to work with me arrives believing their pain is purely structural.
That something is wrong with their body.
That they are fragile.
Damaged.
Not resilient.

Very rarely does somebody say:
“Maybe my body has been carrying stress for years.”
“Maybe trauma, pressure, overwhelm or constantly pushing through has shaped this.”
“Maybe my nervous system has become protective.”

One of the questions I often ask is:
“Do you believe you should never experience discomfort, tension or pain?”

Because being human is not the same as being a machine.
We are dynamic organisms.
We require movement, rest, hydration, nourishment, connection and recovery for our whole system to function well.

Whatever therapy somebody leans towards with me, whether that’s hands-on bodywork, movement, breathwork, mindfulness, TRE™ or Pain Reprocessing Therapy, we don’t spend our time running away from discomfort.

We gently learn to turn towards it.

To notice sensation.
To stay curious.
To explore what happens when we stop fighting every feeling in the body.

Not trying to force change.
Not trying to “fix”.
Simply learning that discomfort can exist without fear.

This video was me stepping outside of my own comfort zone…
Sober dancing.
Lots of laughter.
No hiding.
No numbing.

And it reminded me that I am strong, playful, confident and fully alive.

Discomfort is not always a sign to retreat.
Sometimes it’s where resilience, freedom and self-trust begin.

If you’re struggling with persistent pain, tension, stress or anxiety and would like support, I offer integrative wellbeing and chronic pain recovery sessions from my peaceful garden studio in Laddingford, near Paddock Wood, Kent, as well as online sessions.

You’re welcome to message me or book a free discovery call to explore whether working together feels right for you 🤍

TRE™ is not about forcing the body.

It’s about learning how to safely work with the nervous system’s natural tremor response in a gradual, supported, and regulated way.

In this workshop, you’ll learn:
• how to safely start and stop the tremor response
• how to accelerate or decelerate intensity
• grounding and reintegration practices
• how to recognise your own nervous system signals
• how to use TRE™ as a gentle self-regulation tool at home

Neurogenic tremors are a normal nervous system response. These tremors can help discharge stress, tension, and long-held guarding and postural holding patterns within the body.

The body often knows how to regulate and restore balance — sometimes it simply needs the right conditions and permission.

This is a small, supportive group where individual attention is given and choice is always available throughout.

Before ➝ after a 90 minute integrative treatment session.

Using a combination of:
breathing techniques,
fascial release,
visual training,
rehabilitation exercises,
and cupping therapy.

The aim wasn’t to force movement.
It was to help the nervous system feel safe enough to allow movement again.

When we change sensory input, reduce guarding, improve confidence in movement, and work with the brain and body together, the results can sometimes be surprisingly quick.

I work with people experiencing chronic pain, tension, stress, movement restriction, and nervous system overload from my private garden studio in Laddingford, near Paddock Wood.

I picked up this pebble on Winchelsea Beach and it really stayed with me.

It felt like such a clear reflection of how we move through chronic pain and nervous system recovery.

At the top could be any goal — something small or something that feels huge.

And then there are all the steps… different depths, different directions, different ways forward.

You don’t have to get it right.
You can change direction, take a smaller step, or try something new.

But what often keeps people stuck isn’t choosing the wrong path — it’s not moving at all.

Overthinking, waiting, trying to find certainty.

And yes, there can be fear in the unknown.
But staying still keeps everything exactly the same.

Any movement creates change.

Sometimes the most helpful thing you can do is simply choose a direction and take a step.

If your shoulders always feel tight…this might be why 👇
Shoulder tension isn’t something to fight.
It’s something to understand.

When we learn to feel — rather than fix —
the body often begins to soften on its own.

Tension, even when it shows up as pain or discomfort, is a normal part of being human.
But when it becomes chronic, the brain can stay on high alert…
like something isn’t quite right.

Progressive muscle relaxation is a simple, embodied way to build awareness of your internal state…
to notice the natural rise and fall of tension…
and begin to regulate your nervous system.

And it’s this that starts to reduce tension, pain, and discomfort.

Inside my 1:1 sessions at Move with Ease,
I combine pain education with clinical massage, pain reprocessing therapy, breathwork, movement and mindfulness…

So we can meet you exactly where you are
and gently bring things back into balance.

If your shoulder tension isn’t shifting
this might be why

The body doesn’t work in isolated parts
it works in patterns

Jaw
neck
breath
all connected

Change one
and the others can respond

Try it
and notice what happens
