The aesthetics industry has convinced women that every line is a problem.

The longer I work in aesthetics, the more I realise that most women aren’t actually chasing filler.

They’re chasing a feeling.

They want to look fresher, healthier and less tired. And why wouldn’t we?

The problem is we’ve been sold the idea that every line needs filling.

It doesn’t.

In fact, some of the most natural, youthful faces still have lines when they smile, laugh and move.

The women who age best aren’t always the women having the most filler.

More often than not, they’re the women looking after their skin.

Filler replaces volume.

It doesn’t improve skin quality.

If you keep using filler to solve a skin quality problem, eventually you’ll end up with more filler than you need and still won’t achieve the result you’re looking for.

Trust me, I’ve been there myself – and it’s called filler blindness.

Skin quality first. Everything else second. That’s my ethos. 🖤

Nobody warns you that this job becomes your entire personality 😭

My brain genuinely never switches off.

I analyse skin in public, mentally prescribe treatments to strangers and spend half my life explaining that more filler is not always the answer.

Also yes I do need to sort my posture out immediately.

Tell me I’m not the only one whose brain runs like this 24/7 😭

Turns out burnout was showing on my face more than age was

The older I get, the more I realise ageing well has very little to do with chasing perfection and a lot more to do with how you actually live your life.

Less stress.
Better routines.
More sleep.
More movement.
More family time.
More switch off time.
More consistency.

I genuinely think the years I spent burnt out, stressed and running on adrenaline aged me more than turning 40 ever will.

I still love aesthetics and always will, but now it’s more about looking healthy, fresh and like myself rather than trying to “fix” everything.

Crazy how different life can feel in just a couple of years.
