A lot of people book a massage when something has already gone wrong …

Their back has locked up, their neck won’t turn properly, their shoulders feel like concrete, they’ve ignored the warning signs for weeks and now their body has decided to react.

Massage doesn’t have to be the emergency appointment you book when you can’t move properly.

Massage isn’t just there to fix a problem, it can be maintenance. A way to support your muscles, manage tension, help recovery and give your nervous system a bit of a breather before things build up.

Think of it like looking after your car. You don’t wait for smoke to come out of the bonnet before you do anything about it!

Deep tissue massage sounds scary to some people, so let’s clear that up!

Deep tissue massage is about working into the deeper layers of muscle where tension, tightness and stubborn knots like to set up camp.

It can be really helpful if you have ongoing aches, tight shoulders, back tension, sports related soreness, or you’re just someone who carries stress in your body and pretends everything is fine - sounds familiar?!

The pressure is always tailored to you.

If your body feels tight, heavy, stiff or like it’s been quietly complaining for a while, deep tissue might be exactly what you need.

Wellness doesn’t need to be complicated …
It doesn’t have to mean a full morning routine, a cupboard full of supplements, a 5am wake up or suddenly becoming a completely different person!

Sometimes it’s drinking some water, going to bed a bit earlier, getting outside for ten minutes, saying no to something you really don’t have the capacity for … Booking the massage you’ve been putting off for weeks!

Massage gets put in the “treat yourself” category a lot, which is lovely but it also makes it sound like something extra!

Something indulgent. Something you only book when you’ve got spare time, spare money and absolutely nothing else going on.

But the fact is that’s usually when you need it the most!!

Massage is part of looking after your body properly.
It can help with tension, tight muscles, stress, headaches, recovery, circulation, mobility and all those little aches you keep ignoring because life is busy and you’ve got things to do.

A massage can be maintenance.
It can be support.
It can be your body getting a bit of help before it starts niggling at you!

One thing I wish more people knew is something that may surprise you …!
