With the temperatures climbing this week, I wanted to share a few helpful tips to make sure your cake stays looking and tasting its best! 🎂

🔥 Cakes and heat are not the best combination. 🔥

To help avoid melting, sliding, or damage, proper storage and transportation are essential.

🎂 Storage Guidelines

Buttercream Cakes

* Keep refrigerated until around 1–2 hours before serving.
* This helps maintain their shape and finish, especially during warmer weather.

Fondant Cakes

* Store in a cool, dry room.
* Avoid refrigeration where possible, and keep away from direct sunlight or heat sources.

🚗 Moving Your Cake Safely

Cool the Car First

* Turn on the air conditioning and allow the vehicle to cool before loading your cake.

Choose a Stable Position

* Place the cake box on a flat, level surface such as the boot or the passenger side footwell.
* Avoid placing cakes on seats, as they can tilt, slide, or topple during the journey.

Keep It Out of the Sun

* Make sure sunlight is not shining directly onto the cake while travelling.

Go Straight to Your Destination

* Never leave your cake sitting in a warm vehicle, even for a few minutes.
* Once collected, head directly home or to your venue.
